  • Grizzlies' Brandon Clarke: Back practicing in G League

The Grizzlies assigned Clarke (Achilles) to the G League's Memphis Hustle on Wednesday to participate in practice.

Clarke will be recalled following practice, but he'll remain out for Wednesday's game against the Hornets. In any case, Clarke's ability to practice in the G League suggests that he's likely closing in on making his season debut while he completes his recovery from the surgery he underwent last March to address a torn left Achilles' tendon. Even if Clarke is cleared to play in the coming days, the Grizzlies will bring him back slowly with significant restrictions, so he's unlikely to be an impact fantasy player down the stretch.

  • Lakers' Anthony Davis: Goes through shootaround

Davis (Achilles) was seen going through the Lakers' morning shootaround ahead of Wednesday's game versus Sacramento, Jovan Buha of The Athletic reports.

Davis is expected to suit up Wednesday after being deemed probable with a nagging Achilles injury. The star big man is coming off a dominant performance in which he hauled in 25 rebounds and recorded seven steals during a win over the Timberwolves on Sunday.

  • Rudy Gobert C | MIN

Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Tweaks ribs in win

Gobert recorded eight points (4-7 FG), 11 rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals over 33 minutes but didn't return for the final 7:18 of the fourth quarter of Tuesday's 118-100 win over the Clippers due to a rib injury.

Minnesota initially labeled Gobert as questionable to return when he checked out of the game, but he never re-entered the contest. According to Chris Hine of the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Gobert said after the game that he was feeling fine and avoided any fractures to his ribs, but he noted that it was painful for him to move and breathe because of the location of the injury. The good news for Gobert is that Minnesota is off until Saturday's game against the Jazz, so he'll have three full days to rest up.

  • Chet Holmgren PF | OKC

    Thunder's Chet Holmgren: Double-double in Tuesday's loss

Holmgren finished Tuesday's 121-111 loss to the Pacers with 15 points (6-16 FG, 3-6 3Pt), 13 rebounds, three assists and two blocks across 35 minutes.

The double-double was Holmgren's 19th of the season, and it was a strong bounce-back performance after the 21-year-old center managed just 15 points and nine boards total in his last two contests. The two-game swoon could be a sign Holmgren is wearing down toward the end of his first NBA campaign, but there had been little sign of fatigue before the weekend -- over 11 games since the All-Star break, he's averaging 17.5 points, 9.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 1.7 threes and 1.6 blocks.

  • Wizards' Tristan Vukcevic: Signs two-year deal with Wizards

Vukcevic and the Wizards agreed to a two-year contract Wednesday, Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports.

Washington selected Vukcevic with the No. 42 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, and while he was originally expected to remain overseas for the entire 2023-24 season, the Wizards want to get a close-up look at him to close out the campaign. Vukcevic flashed some intrigue during the Las Vegas Summer League, averaging 11.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.3 assists, 1.0 three-pointers, 1.0 steals and 1.0 blocks in 22.9 minutes per game over four appearances. The 21-year-old had most recently played for Serbian club KK Partizan, averaging 4.2 points, 2.3 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 9.3 minutes per contest over 12 appearances in EuroLeague play. The seven-foot, 230-pound big man is expected to serve in a depth capacity initially and may not immediately factor into the Wizards' rotation.

  • Myles Turner C | MIL

Pacers' Myles Turner: Drops team-high 24 on OKC

Turner had 24 points (11-17 FG, 2-3 3Pt), three rebounds, four assists, four blocks and one steal over 30 minutes during Tuesday's 121-111 win over the Thunder.

The 27-year-old center led the Pacers in scoring in the impressive road win. Turner has been a beast at the rim of late, racking up at least four rejections in three straight games, and in 10 games since the All-Star break, he's averaging 17.2 points, 7.7 boards, 2.4 blocks, 1.3 threes and 1.0 assists as Indiana pushes to secure a playoff spot and avoid the Play-In Tournament.

  • Jazz's Walker Kessler: Top rebounder off bench in loss

Kessler ended with two points (1-1 FG), eight rebounds, one assist and one block over 19 minutes during Tuesday's 123-107 loss to Boston.

Kessler continues to work his way back to full strength after recently returning to the rotation following time off with a right foot sprain. With Luka Samanic starting, Kessler moved to the bench Tuesday but led the Jazz in rebounds despite playing limited minutes. Kessler has hauled in eight or more boards in two straight contests since his return, taking the court in 21.5 minutes per game over that two-game span.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Logs 47th consecutive double-double

Sabonis ended Tuesday's 129-94 victory over the Bucks with 22 points (10-14 FG, 2-2 FT), 11 rebounds, eight assists and one steal in 34 minutes.

Sabonis' double-double streak broke a single-season team record. It's safe to say that Sabinus has given Nikola Jokic a run for his money as the best center in the NBA this season, and their stat lines have been very similar. Sabonis is ahead of Jokic with more double-doubles and triple-doubles, although the MVP candidate isn't far behind.

  • Celtics' Xavier Tillman: Grabs eight boards in win

Tillman amassed seven points (3-5 FG, 1-1 3Pt), eight rebounds, one assist and one steal over 27 minutes in Tuesday's 123-107 road win over the Jazz.

Tillman's 27 minutes of run were driven by the absence of both Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) and Al Horford (toe). Still, Tillman produced solid numbers off the bench, which led to a plus-14 point differential rating. Since Boston acquired Tillman at the deadline, minutes have been erratic for both Tillman and Luke Kornet. But both were able to shine in this last contest of a five-game road trip. Expect Tillman's minutes to decrease Thursday when the Celtics return home to face the Suns.

  • Luke Kornet C | SA

Celtics' Luke Kornet: Prolific in rare start

Kornet finished with 12 points (4-7 FG, 4-4 FT), nine rebounds, six assists and one block across 28 minutes during Tuesday's 123-107 victory over the Jazz.

The Green Kornet was fantastic in what was only his third start of the season. The absence of Kristaps Porzingis (hamstring) and Al Horford (toe) allowed Kornet to shine. His nine rebounds matched his season high. The Vanderbilt product produced exactly the kind of spark needed by Boston on the end of its five-game road trip. Alas, Kornet will probably return to his reserve role when the Celtics return to Boston on Thursday to face the Suns.
