Timberwolves' Naz Reid: Won't play Thursday

Reid (rest) has been ruled out for Thursday's exhibition game against the Bulls, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

Reid will rest again Thursday, but he should be back for Friday's preseason finale in Philadelphia. With Reid watching from the sidelines, expect more minutes for Joe Ingles and Leonard Miller.

  • Rudy Gobert C | MIN

Timberwolves' Rudy Gobert: Slated to play Thursday

Gobert (rest) will play in Thursday's preseason game against the Bulls, Alan Horton of the Timberwolves Radio Network reports.

Gobert was ruled out for Monday's exhibition against the Guangzhou Loong-Lions due to rest purposes, but the veteran big man is good to go Thursday. However, it wouldn't be shocking if he sat out again during Friday's preseason finale against Philadelphia, given it's the second half of a back-to-back set.

  • Wizards' Marvin Bagley: Coming off bench Thursday

Bagley is coming off the bench in Thursday's preseason finale against Detroit.

Alex Sarr will supplant Bagley in the starting group Thursday. This exhibition finale is Bagley's last chance to make an in-game case for the backup center role before Opening Night rosters are due.

  • Alex Sarr C | WAS

Wizards' Alex Sarr: Back in lineup vs. Pistons

Sarr (rest) is in the starting lineup for Thursday's preseason finale in Detroit.

Sarr is back in the mix after missing Monday's preseason game against the Knicks. The second-year big man could see a relatively significant allotment of minutes in what is effectively a dress rehearsal ahead of Opening Night.

  • Clint Capela C | HOU

Rockets' Clint Capela: Won't suit up Thursday

Capela (rest) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Hawks, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports.

Along with most of Houston's regulars, Capela will sit out the team's preseason finale. The 31-year-old center's next chance to play will come in Tuesday's regular-season opener against the Thunder.

  • Rockets' Alperen Sengun: Sitting out preseason finale

Sengun will rest during Thursday's preseason finale against the Hawks, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports.

The star big man will join the rest of Houston's starting lineup in street clothes. Sengun will prepare for Opening Night in Oklahoma City on Tuesday, and he shouldn't face any limitations.

  • Steven Adams C | HOU

    Rockets' Steven Adams: Out Thursday

Adams (rest) won't play in Thursday's preseason game against the Hawks, Vanessa Richardson of Space City Home Network reports.

Along with most of the team's regulars, Adams will sit out Thursday's preseason finale. The big man's next opportunity to suit up will come in the Rockets' regular-season opener against the Thunder on Tuesday.

  • Spurs' Victor Wembanyama: Exercises fourth-year option

The Spurs exercised their fourth-year option on Wembanyama Thursday, Michael C. Wright of ESPN.com reports.

There was never any doubt about San Antonio exercising its option on this generational talent. As long as Wembanyama can stay healthy this season, he'll likely be a top producer after averaging 24.3 points, 11.0 rebounds, 3.7 assists, 3.8 blocks and 1.1 steals in limited action last season.

  • Kings' Domantas Sabonis: Status unclear for preseason finale

Sabonis (hamstring) is questionable for Friday's preseason finale against the Lakers, Sean Cunningham of Fox 40 Sacramento reports.

Sabonis didn't practice Thursday after leaving Wednesday's preseason game against the Clippers due to a right hamstring injury. The star big man underwent an MRI to determine the severity of the injury, and his status should be updated ahead of Friday's final exhibition contest. Drew Eubanks and Dario Saric are the next men up on the depth chart at center.

  • Ulrich Chomche: Waived Thursday

Chomche was waived by the Raptors on Thursday, Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.com reports.

Chomche didn't actually suit up for Toronto during the preseason due to an undisclosed injury, and that impacted his ability to make the Opening Night roster. Per Michael Grange of Sportsnet.ca, Chomche needs to be evaluated by the league's fitness-to-play panel in order to return to action. He'll likely head to the G League if he doesn't land another NBA contract by Opening Night.
