Hawks' Clint Capela: Seventh double-double of season

Capela finished with 11 points (4-6 FG, 3-4 FT), 12 rebounds, two assists and two steals across 27 minutes during Sunday's 136-107 win over Toronto.

Capela came away with his seventh double-double of the season Sunday and his first since a Dec. 11 win over the Knicks. Over his last 12 games, the veteran big man is averaging 9.8 rebounds, 7.8 points, 1.3 assists, 1.0 blocks and 0.7 steals while shooting 55.1 percent from the field. Capela is averaging his fewest points (9.6), boards (9.2) and swats (1.0) per game this season since 2015-16 when he was a part-time player with the Rockets, but he still appears to have the trust of head coach Quin Snyder as Atlanta's regular starting center despite the presence of one-time first-rounder Onyeka Okongwu off the bench.

  • Hawks' Onyeka Okongwu: Provides spark off bench in return

Okongwu (knee) amassed 15 points (6-8 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 3-5 FT), four rebounds, two steals and one block across 18 minutes during Sunday's 136-107 win over the Raptors.

After missing five straight games with left knee inflammation, Okongwu provided a spark off the bench with an efficient 15 points, outscoring veteran starter Clint Capela in the process. Okongwu has been a steady presence as the backup center from Atlanta's second unit in 2024-25, averaging 12.7 points, 6.1 rebounds, 1.0 steals and 0.6 blocks in 22.4 minutes per game over his seven appearances in December. Capela's presence as the Hawks' starting center may continue to cap Okongwu's fantasy ceiling going forward, but the latter has plenty of contingent upside if the former ever were to go down with an injury.

  • Magic's Wendell Carter: Reaches double figures in start

Carter produced 13 points (6-9 FG, 0-1 3Pt, 1-4 FT), six rebounds and one assist across 27 minutes during Sunday's 102-101 win over the Nets.

Carter returned to the Magic starting lineup due to numerous injuries on the roster and put forth a balanced effort Sunday while finishing as one of five players with a double-digit point total. Carter has tallied at least 10 points and five rebounds in seven contests this season. Look for Carter to continue to get extended playing time as Orlando aims to get healthy.

  • John Collins PF | LAC

Clarke joins a laundry list of Grizzlies players ruled out ahead of Sunday's contest, with the big man's absence due to right knee soreness. With Zach Edey (concussion) also out of the lineup, Jay Huff will likely see a substantial role in the frontcourt alongside Jaren Jackson.

  • Zach Edey C | MEM

Edey has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Thunder due to a concussion.

Edey was a late addition to the injury report and appears to have landed in concussion protocols, putting his status for Tuesday's game in Phoenix in jeopardy as well. With Edey and Santi Aldama (ankle) out, Jay Huff and Brandon Clarke (knee) are candidates for expanded roles.
