  • Jazz's Lauri Markkanen: Injures hip, ankle at practice

Markkanen is scheduled to undergo an MRI after suffering a right ankle and a right hip injury at Wednesday's practice, The Salt Lake Tribune reports.

The Jazz face the Pelicans on Thursday, so for now, Markkanen should be considered doubtful for that one, and it wouldn't be surprising to see this turn into a multi-game absence for the Utah star. If Markkanen needs to miss time, that would open up minutes for John Konchar, Brice Sensabaugh and Kevin Love.

  • John Collins PF | LAC

    Clippers' John Collins: Practices Wednesday

Collins (head/neck) practiced Wednesday, but his status for Thursday's game against the Timberwolves has not yet been determined, Janis Carr of The Orange County Register reports.

Collins getting through practice is an encouraging sign, but for now, he should be viewed as questionable for Thursday's game. If he's cleared to return, Kobe Sanders would likely head back to the second unit and Nicolas Batum could lose some minutes.

  • Darius Garland PG | LAC

Clippers' Darius Garland: Continues to progress

Garland (toe) participated in a 5-on-5 scrimmage Wednesday, Janis Carr of The Orange County Register reports.

Garland will also go through another scrimmage Thursday, but he's not going to be cleared to play against the Timberwolves. A return against the Pelicans on March 1 could be on the table if Garland continues to progress, so fantasy managers may not have to wait much longer to see him debut for the Clippers.

  • Bulls' Patrick Williams: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Williams was held out of Wednesday's practice due to tightness in his quadriceps, Kevin Lu of Roundtable Network reports.

Per K.C. Johnson of Chicago Sports Network, Williams will get some imaging done on his sore quad, so for now, he should be considered questionable for Thursday's tilt with the Trail Blazers. If he's not able to give it a go, Leonard Miller and Nick Richards might see a bump in minutes.

  • Jalen Smith PF | CHI

Bulls' Jalen Smith: Has no return timetable

Smith (calf) is without a timetable to return, according to Bulls reporter Kevin Lu on Wednesday.

According to coach Billy Donovan, Smith was not at practice Wednesday and is not considered day-to-day. Based on this update, it's safe to rule Smith out for Thursday's game against Portland, and the big man can be considered week-to-week. Nick Richards could see a bump in minutes in the meantime.

  • Jaylen Brown SF | BOS

Celtics' Jaylen Brown: Not listed on injury report

Brown (knee) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Wednesday's game in Denver, Zack Cox of the Boston Herald reports.

Brown rested on the front end of this back-to-back set, but he'll be back in action Wednesday evening with his usual workload. Brown's return should result in Ron Harper heading back to the second unit, and there will be fewer shots available for Sam Hauser and Baylor Scheierman.

  • Yves Missi C | NO

Pelicans' Yves Missi: Out again Thursday

Missi (calf) will remain out for Thursday's game in Utah.

Thursday will mark Missi's fifth consecutive game on the sidelines, and it's not a great sign that he continues to get ruled out a full day in advance of tipoff. For now, he should be considered highly questionable for Saturday's rematch with the Jazz.

  • Evan Mobley PF | CLE

Cavaliers' Evan Mobley: Ruled out for Wednesday

Mobley (calf) is out for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.

It's the second night of a back-to-back set, so Mobley will sit this one out for rest purposes, as he continues to work his way back from the calf injury. Nae'Qwan Tomlin, Dean Wade and Larry Nance will see a boost with Mobley unavailable Wednesday evening.

  • Micah Peavy SF | NO

Pelicans' Micah Peavy: Available for Thursday

Peavy (toe) is available for Thursday's game against the Jazz.

Peavy is no longer on the injury report after missing four games in a row. He's likely to be an emergency depth option going forward.

  • Pelicans' Trey Murphy: Out again for Thursday

Murphy (shoulder) is out for Thursday's game against the Jazz.

Murphy will be sidelined for a fourth straight game and remains without a timetable to return. The Pelicans will likely lean more on Jordan Poole and Jeremiah Fears in the meantime.
