Dobbs (coach's decision) will serve as San Francisco's emergency third quarterback Sunday versus the Vikings, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

It's the second consecutive week that Dobbs has been designated the 49ers' emergency QB, as Brandon Allen has emerged as the team's preferred choice to back up Brock Purdy. Dobbs will be able to enter Sunday's game only if both Purdy and Dobbs become unavailable due to injury or ejection.
