McLaughlin successfully converted four field-goal attempts and two extra-point kicks for 14 points in Sunday's 26-6 win over the Bears.

McLaughlin's big day included two field goals from beyond a distance of 50 yards -- a 57- and 52- yarder -- and he joined Phil Dawson as the only two kickers in franchise history to make two field goals of 50 yards or more in a single game. The Browns' red-zone offense, which had scored six touchdowns on seven trips the first two weeks of the season, got bogged down by Chicago's defense. Cleveland scored one TD and settled for two field goals among its four trips -- a fourth red-zone appearance was on the final series when the Browns took a knee rather than run up the score. McLaughlin, who won the kicking derby during preseason by default and was assured to be the kicker in the weeks leading up to Week 1, has yet to miss a kick and has cemented his grip on the job for the moment.
