Smith gained 16 yards on four rushes and hauled in one of two targets for nine yards in Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the Raiders.
The veteran back got a handful of opportunities when Jacquizz Rodgers left the game late in the fourth quarter with a foot injury, and one of those touches almost cost the Bucs dearly. Smith lost the handle on a rush early in overtime, but Tampa was able to recover it. With head coach Dirk Koetter implying that Rodgers' injury is serious, Smith and backfield mate Peyton Barber could be sharing tailback duties Thursday versus the Falcons unless Doug Martin (hamstring) is able to take the field.
