Lane will not be tendered by the Bucs and will become an unrestricted free agent Wednesday, Greg Auman of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
The four-year pro appeared in 25 games over the last two seasons and saw his 2015 campaign cut short by a broken right leg suffered against the Bears in November. Lane received only three carries last season, which netted 58 yards and a touchdown. He also hauled in one pass for three yards, with his primary value coming as a blocker for tailbacks Doug Martin and Charles Sims. Lane could be a target for a team looking to take a flyer on a lead blocker with some modest pass-catching skills once he demonstrates his leg is back to full health.
