Sherman (Achilles) was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, ending his 2021 season, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
The cornerback will now be unavailable for the Buccaneers as they attempt to win their second consecutive championship. Sherman only appeared in five games this season after signing with the team in September, making 11 tackles, deflecting a pass, recovering a fumble and recording an interception. Ross Cokrell and Jamel Dean (hamstring) will continue seeing extra run in the team's secondary.
