Rush is one of two quarterbacks on the Cowboys' roster after the team cut Garrett Gilbert and Ben DiNucci on Tuesday, Todd Archer of ESPN.com reports.

The Cowboys could still tentatively pursue another veteran option, but for at least the time being, Rush looks slated to operate as the backup to Dak Prescott (shoulder). That said, the team did recently pass on the opportunity to acquire Gardner Minshew in exchange for a late-round draft pick, instead allowing the Eagles to do so, which may be an indication that Dallas isn't in the market for an alternative backup option.
