Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Prescott will be limited at mandatory minicamp due to knee soreness, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports. Schottenheimer downplayed the severity of Prescott's injury, saying it's a "sore knee, nothing we're concerned about." By all appearances, Dallas is simply taking a cautious approach to the health of the veteran quarterback, who will turn 33 years old in July. It doesn't look like the team has any concerns about Prescott's availability for the start of training camp. Meanwhile, George Pickens has reported to mandatory minicamp after skipping the voluntary portion of the offseason program, though the wideout won't participate in any team drills, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Prescott agreed to terms Wednesday on a restructured contract with the Cowboys, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Prescott and offensive lineman Tyler Smith's (knee) combined restructures free up $47 million in cap space for 2026, and Dallas is also expected to restructure CeeDee Lamb's deal. These restructures presumably involve converting future guarantees into signing bonuses. Prescott is entering his age-33 season fresh off a 2025 campaign in which he completed 67 percent of his passes for 4,552 yards and a 30:10 TD:INT, in addition to rushing 532 times for 177 yards and two scores. With the Cowboys having retained George Pickens for 2026 via the franchise tag and re-signed running back Javonte Williams (shoulder) to a three-year, $24 million deal, Prescott will benefit from significant continuity on offense in 2026.

Prescott completed seven of 11 passes for 70 yards and rushed twice for minus-1 yard, in addition to losing a fumble, in Sunday's 34-17 loss to the Giants. He finishes the 2025 season with 4,552 passing yards and a 30:10 TD:INT. Prescott came into the regular-season finale with the most passing yards, completions and pass attempts in the NFL. With the Cowboys eliminated from playoff contention, he didn't add much to those totals before being replaced by backup Joe Milton at halftime. Prescott is set to carry a cap hit slightly north of $74 million in 2026, but the Cowboys have little choice but to stick with the 32-year-old quarterback despite the team's lack of playoff success.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday that Prescott will play in the team's regular-season finale on the road against the Giants on Sunday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Dallas currently sits at a 7-8-1 record and would finish the 2025 campaign at .500 with a win over New York in Week 18, giving Prescott something to play for even with the team already eliminated from playoff contention. The 32-year-old signal-caller has operated as one of the NFL's most efficient quarterbacks down the stretch, as he's averaging over 300 passing yards per game across seven appearances since the Cowboys' bye in Week 10, with 13 passing touchdowns and just four interceptions in that span.

This week, I will offer a top DFS play for both the Christmas slate and the main slate. On Christmas Day, Dak Prescott is the highest-priced QB and also clearly my favorite option. This is a bad Commanders defense, and Prescott threw three TDs the last time he faced them. There are other places to save money on this three-game slate.
