  Prescott didn't log any snaps during the Cowboys' three-game preseason schedule. Prescott has had WR CeeDee Lamb to throw to since 2020, but the addition of George Pickens during the 2025 offseason helped the quarterback rack up the second-most passing yards in a season (4,552) of his 10-year career. Additionally, Prescott also tossed 30 TDs for the fourth time among his career-high 600 pass attempts. Dallas likely would like that latter number to come down in a more balanced offense, and a new defensive scheme under coordinator Christian Parker could mean Prescott and the offense are in catch-up mode less often. In any case, Prescott has a bonafide top receiving duo at his services, so another 4,000-yard campaign is entirely within the realm of possibilities in 2026

  Prescott isn't slated to play in Saturday's preseason matchup versus Seattle, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. This doesn't come as a surprise, as coach Brian Schottenheimer said in early August that the team's starters won't play during the preseason. Of course, Prescott has ample NFL experience and probably doesn't need preseason games to get in tune. He'll have plenty of opportunities to shake off any offseason rust and build chemistry with his pass catchers during training-camp practices.

  Coach Brian Schottenheimer said Monday that Cowboys starters won't play in the preseason, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports. Schottenheimer didn't specify any particular players, but Prescott is the leader of Dallas' offense and will aim to ensure the unit is running on all cylinders by Week 1 against the Giants on Sunday, Sept. 13. Prescott likely will be joined by RB Javonte Williams, WRs CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens and TE Jake Ferguson, among others, on the sideline during exhibition action.

  Prescott (knee) is participating in Wednesday's training camp session, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports. Prescott isn't wearing a brace on his leg or showing any signs of still managing the knee soreness that caused him to be limited during Dallas' mandatory minicamp back in June. It had been reported upon his initial injury disclosure that Prescott was expected to be a full-go for camp, which appears to be the case. The 33-year-old veteran will spend camp working to improve his chemistry with top wideouts CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens in preparation for what's expected to be one of the league's top scoring offenses.

  Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer said Tuesday that Prescott will be limited at mandatory minicamp due to knee soreness, Tommy Yarrish of the Cowboys' official site reports. Schottenheimer downplayed the severity of Prescott's injury, saying it's a "sore knee, nothing we're concerned about." By all appearances, Dallas is simply taking a cautious approach to the health of the veteran quarterback, who will turn 33 years old in July. It doesn't look like the team has any concerns about Prescott's availability for the start of training camp. Meanwhile, George Pickens has reported to mandatory minicamp after skipping the voluntary portion of the offseason program, though the wideout won't participate in any team drills, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.
