The Browns cut Rogers from their practice squad Monday, Brad Stainbrook of 247Sports.com reports. Rogers has played in just three games this season, exclusively on special teams. The 28-year-old wideout will now have to look for another opportunity with a different team.

Rogers reverted to the Browns' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log. Rogers was elevated from Cleveland's practice squad for the third time in four weeks, as he once again served as the team's primary returner with Jerome Ford (ankle) still on IR. The 28-year-old wideout averaged 21.2 yards over five kickoff returns and returned two punts for seven yards, though he did cough up a fumble on his final punt return. Rogers will now require a full spot on the Browns' active roster in order to suit up for the team again this season.

Rogers returned five kickoffs for 106 yards and two punts for seven yards but fumbled a punt return that was recovered by New England in Sunday's 38-15 loss in Week 6. Rogers, elevated from the practice squad for the third time, played only on special teams. His muffed punt came in the fourth quarter after the Browns stopped the Patriots on a three-and-out. At the time, Cleveland was trailing by nine points with a little under five minutes remaining. The Browns have rotated bodies as returners this season and had seemed to have settled on Jerome Ford until an ankle injury landed him on injured reserve. Rogers' miscue will likely get the team to keep looking.

Rogers has been elevated to the Browns' active roster ahead of their Week 6 matchup with the Patriots, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports. Along with providing depth at wide receiver, Rogers will be a candidate to return kicks for the Browns. This is the last elevation from the practice squad that he is eligible for this season.

Rogers has now combined for 75 return yards over two games this season, and he'll be eligible for one more elevation from Cleveland's practice squad this season.
