Goff has agreed to terms on a contract restructure that frees up $32 million in salary cap room for the Lions, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports. Goff's restructure is among moves being made by Detroit to free up salary cap for free agency, including the team's decision to trade David Montgomery to the Texans and ink Isiah Pacheco to a team-friendly deal. As Goff prepares to contend in a tough NFC North division in 2026, one challenge he will have to adapt to is a revamped O-line that has already replaced LT Taylor Decker and C Graham Glasgow with new signees Larry Borom and Cade Mays. Those adaptations will be eased by Goff's elite returning pass-catching corps, led by wideouts Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jameson Williams and Isaac TeSlaa, plus Jahmyr Gibbs out of the backfield. It will also be to Goff's benefit to have TE Sam LaPorta (back) retake the field in advance of training camp.

Goff completed 27 of 42 passes for 331 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Lions' 19-16 win over the Bears on Sunday. Goff effectively led a relatively pass-heavy attack throughout the afternoon, focusing the majority of his attention -- with great efficacy -- on Amon-Ra St. Brown, who ended up on the receiving end of 11 of his completions for 139 yards. Goff also hit Jahmyr Gibbs for his one touchdown pass from 15 yards out with under five minutes remaining in the first half, and he managed to lead the Lions to a winning record in an otherwise disappointing, non-playoff season. Goff put together another highly fantasy-friendly regular season, completing 68.0 percent of his passes for 4,564 yards and a 34:8 TD:INT while adding 19 rush attempts for 45 yards and playing all 17 games for the fourth consecutive campaign.

Goff completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 197 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions in Thursday's 23-10 loss to the Vikings. He also rushed three times for two yards and fumbled three times, losing all three. Goff connected with Isaac TeSlaa for a four-yard touchdown pass on fourth down to cap a 19-play, 80-yard drive with 1:05 remaining before halftime. That touchdown got the Lions on the board and answered a first-quarter Vikings touchdown that came five plays after a Goff fumble. Minnesota reclaimed the lead with a pair of field goals, which were set up by his two third-quarter interceptions on consecutive pass attempts. Goff fumbled two more times in the fourth quarter, as he accounted for five of Detroit's six turnovers. The Lions were eliminated from playoff contention with Thursday's loss, but Goff will have an opportunity to finish the regular season on a less sour note in a Week 18 trip to Chicago.

I love Goff, and he helped me reach the Fantasy championship in one league this season by scoring at least 31.5 points in each of his past two games against the Rams and Steelers. But this is a tough week to trust him against the Vikings, who are on a historic run defensively. Minnesota comes into Week 17 as the first team since the 1988 Browns to not allow a touchdown pass in at least six consecutive games. And the Vikings have done that against Caleb Williams, Jordan Love, Sam Darnold, Jayden Daniels, Dak Prescott and Jaxson Dart since Week 11, which isn't exactly easy competition. Add in Week 10 against Lamar Jackson, who had one touchdown pass, and Minnesota has held seven quarterbacks in a row to 18.6 Fantasy points or less. Now, in Week 9, Goff had 23.4 Fantasy points against the Vikings, but he has averaged 14.2 points in five career games at Minnesota. I would only start Goff in Superflex and two-quarterback leagues in Week 17.

Goff completed 34 of 54 passes for 364 yards and three touchdowns with no interceptions in Sunday's 29-24 loss to the Steelers. He added one rush for minus-1 yard. Goff took to the air a season-high 54 times as the Lions played down by two scores for much of the fourth quarter. He was efficient throughout the contest, and he picked up 199 yards and touchdowns of 27 and four yards across the team's final three drives of the game. While it hasn't led to consistent victories, Goff has topped 300 passing yards in three straight games while also throwing seven touchdowns in that span.
