  The Saints released Robinson on Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Robinson, who played only one game in 2023 and 11 contests in 2022, couldn't carve out a reserve role for himself behind Alvin Kamara in New Orleans' backfield despite Kendre Miller (hamstring) missing most of training camp and Jamaal Williams having been notably unproductive last season. Since suffering an Achilles tear back in 2021, Robinson has bounced between multiple organizations in the league. He'll look to earn another practice squad opportunity for the 2024 campaign, whether with the Saints or a new club.

  The Saints signed Robinson due to a reserve/future contract Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports. Robinson is a four-year veteran with 2,264 career regular-season rushing yards to his name, though nearly half of those came in his rookie season in 2020. An Achilles tear suffered in Week 16 of 2021 derailed his once-promising career, and the Illinois State product has played in only 12 games over the past two seasons, spending almost all of 2023 on Green Bay's practice squad. Robinson joined New Orleans' practice squad in mid-December, and the organization apparently liked what they saw from him enough to want to give him a shot at making the roster next year, though it remains to be seen how much Robinson has left in the tank.

  Robinson was cut from the Packers' practice squad Tuesday. Robinson has been let go from, then brought back by, Green Bay multiple times this season. However, this time he was let go to make room for another running back, Kenyan Drake, on the practice squad. Whether Robinson will get another chance with the Packers remains to be seen.

  The Packers elevated Robinson to their active roster Saturday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports. Green Bay will be without both Aaron Jones (knee) and Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) in Week 13, so Robinson's elevation will ensure depth at running back behind AJ Dillon and Patrick Taylor. Robinson's most recent action came in 2022 with the Jets and Jaguars, when he logged 476 total yards on 121 touches.

The Packers are desperate for backfield help after losing Aaron Jones (knee) and Emanuel Wilson (shoulder) to injuries in Sunday's win over the Chargers. It could be a challenge for Jones and Wilson to be ready to play in Thursday's divisional showdown against the Lions. Robinson joins Ellis Merriweather as running backs on Green Bay's practice unit.
