  Seahawks coach Mike Macdonald suggested Friday that he's optimistic Metcalf (knee) will return after a Week 10 bye, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Metcalf hasn't practiced since suffering an MCL sprain Week 7 and will miss a second straight game when Seattle hosts the Rams this Sunday. An upcoming bye gives him a good chance to avoid a third absence, but Macdonald did seem measured in his optimism and said the wideout needs more time to recover. WR Jake Bobo figures to fill in again this Sunday alongside WRs Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett.

  Metcalf (knee) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Rams, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports. Metcalf will miss his second straight game with an MCL sprain, but he at least has a good chance to avoid further absences with a bye week coming up after Sunday's divisional game. Jake Bobo took most of Metcalf's usual snaps in a Week 8 loss to the Bills but was targeted just once on 24 routes.

  Metcalf (knee) won't practice Wednesday, but head coach Mike Macdonald said he's optimistic the wideout will return to practice Thursday and then play in Sunday's game against the Rams, Curtis Crabtree of Fox 13 Seattle reports. Metcalf didn't practice last week and ended up missing a 31-10 loss to the Bills after suffering an MCL sprain the week before. His sprain isn't thought to be especially, but Macdonald's optimism should probably be taken with a grain of salt, especially with a bye week coming up after Sunday's game and then two more divisional games scheduled on the other side of the bye (Week 11 at San Francisco, Week 12 vs. Arizona).

The Seahawks plan to see how Metcalf looks when he's able return to practice and then go from there, but at this stage it looks like the wideout has a chance to play this weekend after being inactive Week 8. In Metcalf's absence in Seattle's loss to the Bills, Jake Bobo saw added snaps alongside Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Tyler Lockett.
