Metellus accrued eight tackles (four solo) and one forced fumble in Sunday's 31-29 loss to the Lions. Metellus was the Vikings' second-leading tackler Sunday behind Ivan Pace (10). Metellus and Camryn Bynum combined to strip the ball out of David Montgomery's hands midway through the fourth quarter, which Pace returned for a 36-yard scoop and score. Through the first six games of the regular season, Metellus has logged 34 tackles (21 solo), three pass breakups, one interception and one forced fumble.

Metellus tallied seven tackles (five solo) and an interception during the Vikings' 23-17 win over the 49ers on Sunday. Metellus came up big for Minnesota as he recorded the team's only interception, which was the third of his career. The 26-year-old will look to build off this strong performance next week versus the Texans.

Metellus tallied 10 tackles (eight solo) in Sunday's loss to Detroit. Metellus led the Vikings in stops in the defeat, posting his first double-digit total since Week 3 of last season. The fourth-year safety has played 100 percent of the Vikings' defensive snaps each of his past six games and has recorded at least five stops in every contest during that span. Metellus was primarily a special-teamer prior to this year, but he's blossomed in a near every-down role this season, posting 103 tackles (67 solo), including 2.5 sacks, along with an interception and four forced fumbles over 15 games.

Metellus is questionable to return to Thursday's game against Philadelphia due to a shoulder injury, Lindsey Young of the Vikings' official site reports. Metellus hurt his shoulder in the first quarter of the contest and subsequently headed to the medical tent. Theo Jackson entered in his absence and could continue to see extra work if Metellus is unable to return.

Metellus had six total tackles and a pass defensed in Sunday's loss to Tampa Bay. He started the game as the slot defender as the Vikings used a formation with three safeties. Metellus played on 57 of the defense's 68 snaps as the defense frequently utilized a secondary with three safeties. It looks like Metellus will have a large role this season in addition to continuing to play extensive snaps (19) on special teams.
