  Egbuka brought in five of six targets for 63 yards in the Buccaneers' 33-27 loss to the Bengals on Sunday. The second-year wideout led the way for the Buccaneers in receiving yards while checking in second in both receptions and targets on the afternoon. Egbuka didn't show any ill effects from the toe injury he'd previously been dealing with this summer, and his first game as the new No. 1 receiver in the wake of Mike Evans' offseason departure was encouraging overall, especially considering Baker Mayfield struggled through an uneven, turnover-filled afternoon. Egbuka will have a bright outlook in all fantasy formats for a Week 2 home matchup against a Browns defense that was exposed repeatedly by Jaguars wide receivers in Week 1.

Egbuka is ready to go for Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Bengals, and in a game with the highest projected points total on the slate, Egbuka is looking like a fantasy WR2 with obvious upside. He's expected to take over as the Bucs' top wideout this season after Mike Evans left for San Francisco in free agency.

  Egbuka (toe) was on the field for the start of Wednesday's practice and appeared to be a full participant, Greg Auman of Fox Sports reports. Tampa Bay will post its first injury report of the season after Wednesday's session concludes, and if Egbuka is in fact listed as a full participant, he would be in the clear to play in Sunday's season opener versus the Bengals. For much of training camp, Egbuka was a spectator or limited participant while he tended to a sprained toe, but he appears to have made positive strides in his recovery over the past week. Tampa Bay looks set to have all of its key pass catchers available for Week 1, as Jalen McMillan (knee) also looked to be practicing fully Wednesday.

Egbuka was limited to work on the side last week, and although it's not yet clear how much he will do Monday, it appears he has taken a step forward in his recovery from a toe issue. There has been hope that Egbuka will be available for Week 1, and there remains reason to believe he will be available for Tampa Bay's opener.

Coach Todd Bowles said over the weekend that he was "hopeful" Egbuka would be available for Week 1, which is now just under two weeks away. Until Egbuka can return to the practice field, his status for Tampa Bay's season opener appears to be in limbo.
