The Colts released Ward on Sunday. Ward was a late addition to the Colts' training camp roster, and across his two preseason outings he recorded two catches for 16 yards. Should he clear waivers, Ward will look to link up with another team, likely on the practice squad in a depth wide receiver role. He last saw NFL action in 2021 with the Eagles.

The Houston product last suited up in 2021, where he appeared in 17 regular-season games, making seven catches on 11 targets for 95 yards and three touchdowns.

However, since he wasn't waived with an injury designation, he appears to have moved past the ankle injury he dealt with late in training camp.
