McCollum (hip) was placed on the injured reserve list Monday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports. The fourth-year pro sustained a hip injury in the Week 15 loss to the Falcons, and it now appears serious enough for him to land on IR. McCollum will be forced to miss the Buccaneers' next four games at a minimum, meaning his 2025 regular season has come to an end. Across 13 appearances this year, the 26-year-old tallied 65 total tackles and six passes defensed, including one interception. While he's sidelined, expect Benjamin Morrison to have an expanded role in Tampa Bay's secondary.

McCollum played every defensive snap for an eighth consecutive game and co-led the Bucs in tackles with Antoine Winfield. McCollum has recorded at least five stops in each of his last four games and is up to 53 tackles (37 solo) and four pass defenses across nine regular-season games.

McCollum (thumb) was a full participant at practice Thursday. McCollum missed the team's 30-19 win over the 49ers in Week 6 due to a thumb injury, but he now looks to be ready to go for Week 7. The 26-year-old will be back in his starting role at cornerback against Detroit on Monday Night Football.

McCollum initially injured his thumb in Week 4 and played last Sunday against the Seahawks, but he underwent surgery on the thumb earlier this week. If McCollum is unable to play Sunday against the 49ers, Kindle Vildor, Josh Hayes and Benjamin Morrison (hamstring) would be next in line for increased action on defense.
