Robbins was waived by the Bengals on Tuesday. Robbins suffered an upper leg injury during training camp, but he was designated to return from IR on Monday. In his absence, Cincinnati turned to Ryan Rehkow to take over punting duties, who has made the most of the opportunity and is leading the NFL in yards per punt. Unfortunately for Robbins, this has led the team to stick with Rehkow, leaving the Michigan product on the waiver wire.

Robbins (upper leg) was designated to return from injured reserve Monday. Robbins has missed the mandatory four games since being placed on IR before the start of the season. The second-year pro suffered the injury during practice back on Aug. 13, and his designation to return will allow him to practice with the team again. Once fully cleared, he should take back over his customary punting duties. However, it's worth noting that Ryan Rehkow, who's been filling in for Robbins, leads the NFL in yards per punting average, which could lead to a difficult decision for Cincinnati.

The Bengals placed Robbins (upper leg) on the reserve/injured list with a designation to return Tuesday. Robbins injured his leg during practice Aug. 13, which forced him to sit out for the final two preseason games. He'll be held out for the first four games of the regular season, and he won't be eligible to return until Week 5 against the Ravens. While Robbins is sidelined, Ryan Rehkow is slated to serve as the Bengals' starting punter.

Robbins (undisclosed) exited the Bengals' practice early Tuesday, Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic reports. Robbins walked off the field and went straight to the locker room at practice Tuesday, looking to be in some discomfort. It's unclear what exactly is ailing the punter, but he appeared to be favoring his right leg and more information on his status will likely be provided in the near future.

The Bengals selected Robbins in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 217th overall. Robbins served as Michigan's punter for the better part of the last six seasons, and he was particularly strong as an upperclassman. He averaged 46.3 yards per punt in 2021, booming 12 kicks for more than 50 yards. Robbins will compete for the starting job with Drue Chrisman.
