The 49ers placed Jackson on the reserve/PUP list with a knee injury Thursday and is expected to miss the 2024 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports. Jackson missed the final 12 games of last season, including playoffs, due to a knee injury. The 2022 second-round pick out of USC opened training camp on the active/PUP list, and his move to the reserve/PUP list is expected to result in a season-long absence, per Yates. Jackson played in 23 regular-season games over the last two campaigns, accumulating 21 tackles (12 solo), including 6.0 sacks, along with nine passes defended and one interception.

Jackson (knee) was placed on injured reserve by the 49ers on Saturday, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports. Jackson practiced on a limited basis Wednesday and Thursday before missing Friday's session. The second-year pro has recorded seven tackles, including 3.0 sacks, and a pass defensed in eight games this season.

Jackson recorded three sacks during Sunday's 30-7 win over the Steelers. Jackson started his sophomore campaign by making a statement. After recording three sacks over his entire rookie year, the 2022 second-round selection matched that during his Week 1 outing against Pittsburgh. He'll work to keep the production rolling Sunday against the Rams.
