Jones suffered a throat injury in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game. Given that the game has entered the final two minutes of the fourth quarter, he may have been held out for the rest of the contest out of precaution. • Colts' Jaylon Jones: Two INTs in win
    By RotoWire

Jones started and recorded five total tackles and two interceptions in Sunday's 21-16 win over Chicago. Jones struggled in coverage Week 1 but has shown improvement in both of the ensuing two games. He played on all 90 of the Colts' defensive snaps Week 3, so he looks entrenched as a starter at right cornerback after winning the role in training camp.

  • Jones racked up 44 tackles (33 solo) and five passes defended across 17 regular-season appearances with Indianapolis in 2023. The 2023 seventh-round pick was thrust into a starting role early in his NFL career due to a season-ending injury to Dallis Flowers (Achilles), and by Week 8 he was handling more than 90 percent of defensive snaps. Jones played an impressive 763 defensive snaps as a rookie, and while he may not retain a full starting role for the 2024 campaign, he has certainly solidified himself as a key cog in the Colts' secondary.

  • Jones had one total tackle while playing six snaps on defense in Sunday's overtime loss to the Rams. He's a candidate to take over a starting cornerback role with Dallis Flowers' season-ending Achilles injury, the Indianapolis Star reports. Jones had played just one snap on defense in Week 1 before Sunday. The 2023 seventh-round draft pick will compete with Darrell Baker to fill the void caused by Flowers' absence. Baker was a healthy scratch the last two weeks after struggling in his first two games.
