Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Norv Turner confirmed Monday starting right tackle Phil Loadholt will need surgery for a torn Achilles and miss the 2015 season. Loadholt suffered the injury in Saturday's preseason opener against the Bucs.

Vikings RT Phil Loadholt likely out for year with Achilles tear
The season has apparently ended quite early for Minnesota Vikings starting right tackle Phil Loadholt. He sustained a torn Achilles tendon on the second play from scrimmage Saturday night in the preseason opener against Tampa Bay. Loadholt was in obvious pain as he was carted off the field, per the St. Paul Pioneer Press. The 29 year old has started every game for Minnesota since arriving in 2009.

Vikings' Phil Loadholt, Brandon Fusco on track for 2015 season
Minnesota Vikings right tackle Phil Loadholt and right guard Brandon Fusco are on track in their recoveries from torn pectoral muscles, reports the Minneapolis Star Tribune. Fusco suffered his injury in Week 3, so he's ahead of Loadholt, who got hurt in Week 12. Fusco plans to be ready for OTAs, while Loadholt vowed to be ready no later than training camp. “I can use him as a gauge,” Loadholt said of his teammate. “He’s through everything I’m going through right now, so I’m just trying to stay on pace and get ready for the year.”
