    Lions' Ezekiel Ansah: Lands on PUP list

    Ansah (undisclosed) was placed on the PUP list by the Detroit Lions on Saturday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.The Lions enter training camp with a thinned-out defensive front with Ansah on the PUP list and Cornelius Washington being moved to the non-football injury list in addition to Armonty Bryant's absence due to suspension. Still, Ansah will be able to come off the PUP list once he's ready, which could be at any point during training camp. Look for a firmer timeline for Ansah's return once Detroit's camp gets underway.

    Jake Stoneburner: Released by Saints

    The Saints opted to release Jake Stoneburner on Monday, The New Orleans Advocate reports.Stoneburner signed a reserve/future contract with the team following the conclusion of the 2017 season. Prior to the that, he was inked to the team's practice squad due to a rash of injuries at the position. The Ohio State product entered the league in 2012 as an undrafted free agent. Along with the Saints, he has spent time with the Packers, Dolphins, and Rams.

    Jake Stoneburner signed a reserve/future contract with the New Orleans Saints earlier this month, reports the New Orleans Times-Picayune.Stoneburner entered the league in 2012 as an undrafted free agent out of Ohio State. The 6-foot-3, 249-pound tight end has spent time with the Packers, Dolphins, and Rams, but was signed to the Saints' practice squad in September 2016. Stoneburner will compete for a roster spot next season as the Saints' third-string tight end behind Coby Fleener and Josh Hill.

    Dolphins TE Dion Sims officially ruled out for Week 2 vs. Jags

    Miami Dolphins tight end Dion Sims (concussion) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Jaguars, Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald reports. Considering Sims did not practice Wednesday or Thursday, his status for Sunday comes as no surprise. Jake Stoneburner could see additional snaps with Sims watching on the sidelines, however starting tight end Jordan Cameron, who recorded four catches for 73 yards in Week 1, should be an even more prominent figure for QB Ryan Tannehill with Sims out.
