Matt Shaughnessy: Waived by Saints
Matt Shaughnessy was waived by the Saints on Tuesday, ESPN.com reports.Shaughnessy last played with the Cardinals during the 2014 season, as he opted to take a year off to get himself completely healthy. The Saints signed him earlier in August as a depth option on defense, but after an unimpressive preseason up to this point, the 29-year-old was let go Tuesday. A six-year NFL veteran, he may find some interest elsewhere prior to the season.

After a year out of football, Matt Shaughnessy will reportedly sign with the Saints, Ian Rapoport of NFL.com reports.Shaughnessy last played for the Cardinals in the 2014 season. It is currently unclear what type of role the veteran OLB will have with the Saints. At just 29-years-old, Shaughnessy should enough gas left in tank to compete for a roster spot.

Cardinals' Larry Fitzgerald good to go for Week 17
Arizona Cardinals wideout Larry Fitzgerald is active Week 17 against the 49ers. Fitzgerald entered the contest listed as probable due to a knee injury. He was never a serious candidate to miss the game. The club will also have Lorenzo Alexander, Jaron Brown, Calais Campbell, Rashad Johnson, Ted Larsen, Tyrann Mathieu and Matt Shaughnessy for the contest. All seven players were also considered probable. Deone Bucannon, John Carlson and Dan Williams will all attempt to play through injuries. They were all listed as questionable coming into the game.

With quarterback Drew Stanton (knee) already declared out, the Arizona Cardinals listed four players as questionable for Sunday's game against the 49ers including Deone Bucannon (knee), John Carlson (calf), Johnathan Cooper (wrist) and Dan Williams (foot). Linebacker Larry Foote is also listeed as doubtful for the game with a knee injury. Foote has not missed a game this season, totaling 84 tackles and two sacks. The Cardinals have also listed the following players as probable: Lorenzo Alexander (knee), Jaron Brown (toe), Calais Campbell (hip), Larry Fitzgerald (knee), Rashad Johnson (ankle), Ted Larsen (shoulder), Tyrann Mathieu (thumb) and Matt Shaughnessy (shoulder).

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (knee) is active for Thursday night's matchup with the Rams after being listed on the team's final injury report as probable to play. Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (knee) has been listed as probable for Thursday's Week 15 matchup with the Rams after participating fully in practice Wednesday. Fitzgerald caught four passes for 34 yards in Week 14 after returning from a two-game absence. He was limited in the team's first two practices of the week before putting in a full practice Wednesday. Five other players are listed as probable after participating fully in practice Wednesday, including quarterback Drew Stanton (ankle, knee), offensive tackle Jared Veldheer (ankle) and linebackers Larry Foote (foot), Matt Shaughnessy (shoulder) and Lorenzo Alexander (knee). Cornerback Antonio Cromartie (ankle) is listed as questionable to face the Rams after being a limited participant in practice for the second straight day Wednesday. The team has ruled safety Tyrann Mathieu (thumb) and guard Paul Fanaika (ankle) out.

Cardinals release Michael Bush, Matthew Mulligan
The Arizona Cardinals waived running back Michael Bush and tight end Matthew Mulligan Friday, reports the team’s website. The Cardinals signed Bush to help provide backfield depth, but Bush never received a carry for the Cardinals. With two open roster spots, the Cardinals promoted running back Kerwynn Williams from the team's practice squad and activated linebacker Matt Shaughnessy from short-term IR. The Cardinals play the Chiefs Week 14.
