Johnson (pectoral) received clearance to resume football activities "in the winter," Jim Owczarski of Cincinnati.com reports.Johnson tore his pectoral muscle during a weightlifting session last December. Since he avoided damage to the surrounding ligaments, Johnson didn't require a lengthy recovery process. Now healthy, the 2013 seventh-rounder opens the 2018 offseason as the only true center on the Cincinnati Bengals' roster.

Bengals' T.J. Johnson: Lands on IR
The Cincinnati Bengals placed T.J. Johnson on injured reserve Saturday due to a neck injury, Jay Morrison of the Dayton Daily News reports.Johnson popped up on Friday's injury report with a pectoral injury, which now appears to be a relatively serious issue. His absence for the remainder of the season means Alex Redmond and Christian Westerman could see some extra work providing depth on the interior of the offensive line should any starters obtain injuries. Expect an update on Johnson's status if the team provides more clarity on his injury.

Bengals list Week 17 inactives vs. Steelers
The Cincinnati Bengals have listed the following players as inactive for Sunday night's Week 17 matchup with the Steelers: cornerback Terence Newman (illness), wide receivers James Wright (knee) and Greg Little, quarterback AJ McCarron , guard T.J. Johnson, tackle Tanner Hawkinson and defensive tackle Devon Still. Newman and Wright were both listed as questionable to play in the regular-season finale. The team will have four other questionables available to play against the Steelers. Cincinnat is a 3 1/2-point underdog in Pittsburgh in Week 17.
