Raiders' Geno Smith: Moving to Vegas

The Seahawks traded Geno Smith (hip) to the Las Vegas Raiders on Friday for a 2025 third-round pick, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports. There had been rumblings that Smith was on the trade block like WR DK Metcalf, but the signal-caller now has reunited with coach Pete Carroll in Las Vegas after spending the 2020 through 2023 seasons together in Seattle. As the regular starter for the Seahawks the last three campaigns, Smith notched a 27-22 record, completed 68.5 percent of his passes, averaged 249.5 yards per game and compiled 71 touchdown passes versus 35 interceptions. He also tacked on 703 yards and four more TDs on 158 carries during that span. With the Raiders, Smith will be operating with top-notch second-year TE Brock Bowers, but the much of the rest of the receiving corps is a work in progress.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Injures hip in Week18 win

Geno Smith (hip) completed 20 of 27 pass attempts for 223 yards and four touchdowns while rushing twice for 14 yards in Sunday's 30-25 win over the Rams.Smith saved arguably his best performance of the campaign from the pocket for the last game of the regular season. However, the veteran signal-caller suffered a hip injury on Seattle's final possession in a game that had no implications on the playoff picture for the Seattle Seahawks, as reported by Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times. The severity of the injury is currently unclear, but Smith will have the entire offseason to recoup before running things back in 2025 for the final period of his current three-year contract with Seattle.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: In line for regular role in Week 18

Head coach Mike Macdonald said Wednesday that Geno Smith will likely start and play the full game Sunday against the Rams, as the Seattle Seahawks aren't planning to give No. 2 quarterback Sam Howell any reps, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.Seattle has been eliminated from playoff contention, but Smith doesn't look like he'll be rested, even though he's not far removed from suffering a knee injury in the Seahawks' Week 15 loss to the Packers. Smith has started all 16 of the Seahawks' contests on the campaign, while Howell has played just 25 offensive snaps, all but one of which came when he stepped in for an injured Smith in Week 15. Smith ranks fifth in the NFL with 4,097 passing yards on the season, though his 17:15 TD:INT leaves much to be desired.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Modest numbers in low-scoring win

Geno Smith completed 17 of 23 passes for 160 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions and rushed three times for 19 yards in the Seattle Seahawks' 6-3 win over the Bears on Thursday night. He also committed two fumbles, recovering one.As the final score indicates, the game wasn't exactly an offensive showcase, and Smith's yardage total, his second lowest of the season, further corroborates the futility. However, the veteran signal-caller was accurate and connected with six different targets overall, albeit with just one completion of over 20 yards. Smith did go without a touchdown for the second time in the last three games, but he helped keep the Seahawks firmly in contention for both an NFC West title and a wild-card spot ahead of a Week 18 road showdown with the division-leading Rams.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Posts big numbers in loss

Geno Smith completed 31 of 43 pass attempts for 314 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions while taking his only carry for eight yards in Sunday's 27-24 loss to Minnesota.Smith was cleared from the knee injury that forced him out of last week's contest against Green Bay prior to Sunday's kickoff, and the end result was a strong performance from a fantasy perspective. It was the veteran QB's second game of the season with three touchdown passes thrown and the fifth time he has eclipsed the 300-yard mark through 15 starts. Smith's passing volume (3,937 yards) has helped offset a mediocre 17:15 TD:INT on the campaign. With the minor knee injury in the rearview mirror, Smith makes for a fine play in Week 17 against the lowly Bears on Thursday Night Football.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Expecting to play Sunday

Geno Smith (knee) said Thursday that he expects to play in the Seattle Seahawks' Week 16 matchup with the Vikings, John Boyle of the team's official site reports. "I'm getting better every day, and I'm looking forward to Sunday," Smith added.Smith was forced out of this past Sunday's loss in the third quarter after he took a low hit from a Packers defender and didn't return. He received positive results from testing in the days following the contest, and he's now logged back-to-back full practices to begin Week 16 prep, per Boyle. All signs point to Smith being under center for Seattle after Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Puts in full practice Wednesday

Geno Smith (knee) practiced fully Wednesday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.Smith injured his right knee in the second half of this past Sunday's loss to the Packers and wasn't able to return. He was able to work out Monday, then received encouraging results after undergoing tests on his knee. With no limitations to begin Week 16 prep, Smith thus is set to remain the Seattle Seahawks' starting quarterback Sunday against the Vikings.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Good news regarding knee injury

Coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that tests performed on Geno Smith's right knee were positive, and the Seattle Seahawks hope to "see him practice throughout the week," Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.Smith took a low hit from a Packers defender in the middle of the third quarter of Sunday's loss and limped to the sideline and eventually the locker room. He returned to the bench not long after, but he didn't retake the field, yielding QB duties to Sam Howell for the remainder of the contest. It seems that Smith has dodged a bullet, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to do enough to gain clearance for this coming Sunday's game against the Vikings.

Seahawks' Geno Smith: Set for tests on knee Monday

Seattle Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said after Sunday's 30-13 loss to the Packers that Geno Smith will undergo additional testing on his right knee injury Monday, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports. Smith completed 15 of 19 pass attempts for 149 yards and an interception while adding five yards on one carry before exiting the game.Smith didn't return after suffering the injury in the third quarter, as Sam Howell played out the remainder of the game. Macdonald added that Smith's knee looks fine structurally, but the results of additional tests will determine whether Smith will need to miss additional time. Seattle's next game falls on Sunday in Week 16 against the Vikings.
