Raiders' Cooper Helfet: Returns to active roster

Cooper Helfet (undisclosed) was removed from the Active/Non-Football Injury list Monday after passing a physical, freelance NFL reporter Adam Caplan reports.Helfet had been on the NFI list since late July, with the Oakland Raiders providing no specifics regarding the injury. The 28-year-old has a lot of ground to make up to earn playing time over the final two exhibitions and is unlikely to be a major factor in the Raiders' passing game if he survives roster cuts.

Raiders' Cooper Helfet: Given NFI designation

Cooper Helfet (undisclosed) was placed on the Active/Non-Football Injury list Tuesday, Jimmy Durkin of the Mercury News reports.Helfet needed surgery after breaking his foot in the first week of the 2016 preseason, when he was waived/injured by the Seahawks. His last NFL action came in 2015, when he played 14 games and caught 13 balls on 22 targets for 130 yards and zero touchdowns. The timeline for Helfet's return is murky due to the lack of transparency on the nature of the injury. With tight end Jared Cook ahead of Helfet in the depth chart and receivers like Amari Cooper and Michael Crabtree on the field as well, don't expect quarterback Derek Carr to give Helfet much attention when he's healthy.

Raiders' Cooper Helfet: Signs future contract with Raiders

Cooper Helfet signed a reserve/future contract with the Oakland Raiders on Monday.Helfet appeared in 25 games for the Seahawks in 2014 and 2015 but was waived after fracturing his foot in training camp last summer. Seahawks' Cooper Helfet: Needs surgery

Cooper Helfet (foot) will need surgery on his fractured foot, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.Helfet fractured his foot on Sunday and has yet to be given a timetable for a return, but it appears to have taken a step in the wrong direction. Seahawks' Cooper Helfet: Cracks bone in foot

Cooper Helfet cracked a bone in his foot and could be sidelined for an extended period of time, Curtis Crabtree of ProFootballTalk.com reports. The Seattle Seahawks have yet to indicate how long the cracked bone could keep Helfet out, but it appears an extended absence is coming. Helfet saw action in 14 games for the Seahawks during the 2015 season, recording 130 yards on 13 receptions. He was slated to be a bit buried on the depth chart again during the upcoming campaign, so he likely wouldn't have posted fantasy worthy numbers even if he was 100 percent healthy. Helfet will instead start the long road to recovery while we wait to here further details regarding the injury.
