Jalin Marshall: Facing discipline
The NFL suspended Jalin Marshall for the first four games of the 2019 season, Field Yates of ESPN reports. The circumstances surrounding Marshall's suspension aren't clear, but it may explain why the Raiders waived him two days after signing him May 7. The Ohio State product recently inked a contract in the CFL, so it's likely he won't be on another NFL roster in the near future anyway.

Jalin Marshall: Waived by Jets
The Jets waived Jalin Marshall on Saturday, Eric Allen of the team's official site reports.Marshall had been with the Jets for the past two seasons, most recently spending the 2017 campaign on the team's practice squad. His inability to make a name for himself on such an unsettled depth chart doesn't bode well for his prospects going forward. The Ohio State product will become an unrestricted free agent if he passes through waivers unclaimed.

Jalin Marshall: Signs reserve/future contract with Jets
The Jets signed Jalin Marshall to a reserve/future contract Monday, Rich Cimini of ESPN reports.Marshall spent the beginning of the season with the Jets while serving a four-game suspension for a violation of the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances. However, he wasn't added to the active roster upon his reinstatement but was instead waived and signed to the Jets' practice squad, where he finished out the season. The Jets have one of the most fluid receiver depth charts in the league and there would seem to be an opportunity for the Ohio State product to snag a spot near the bottom of the totem pole.

Jets' Jalin Marshall: Added to active roster
Jalin Marshall was added to the active roster Monday, Ethan Greenberg of the New York Jets' official site reports.Despite satisfying his four-game suspension last week, Marshall wasn't immediately activated to the active roster. However, head coach Todd Bowles evidently decided the receiver's versatility was too valuable to pass up after Marshall averaged 11.6 YPC on 14 receptions while logging 24.9 yards per kick return as a rookie in 2016. While it isn't crystal clear where he stands on the depth chart from the get-go, Marshall would figure to slot in as the fourth receiver behind the established top trio of Jermaine Kearse, Robby Anderson and Jeremy Kerley.

Jets' Jalin Marshall: Struggles in exhibition
Jalin Marshall (suspension) struggled in Saturday's preseason opener against the Titans, dropping a pass and drawing a holding penalty, ESPN.com's Rich Cimini reports.Listed as a starer on the unofficial preseason depth chart, Marshall did have a 15-yard gain with Josh McCown under center on the opening drive, making up for his penalty earlier in the series. The second-year wideout's other target came at the beginning of the second quarter with Christian Hackenberg directing the offense. If not for his upcoming four-game suspension, Marshall would be on track to start the season in the No. 2 or 3 receiver role. He should still be involved once he's available, but his lengthy absence will give the likes of Ardarius Stewart and Charone Peake a chance to prove they're deserving of higher slots on the depth chart. Robby Anderson is the only wideout locked in as a starter.
