Christian Wilkins: Leaving Las Vegas
The Raiders released Christian Wilkins (foot) on Thursday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. It's shocking news, as the Raiders signed Wilkins to a five-year, $110 million dollar deal last March. Per Schefter, Las Vegas is releasing the defensive lineman with the designation of terminated vested veteran, and the organization voided the remaining $35.2 million of the guaranteed money left on his deal last month. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network adds that the Raiders and Wilkins have had an "ongoing dispute" over his foot injury, as Wilkins declined having a second surgery despite the team's request for him to go under the knife again to address the issue. Schefter reports that Wilkins filed a grievance with the NFLPA on Thursday, so it appears that the player and the organization are headed for a dispute over guaranteed money. Regardless of how that turns out, Wilkins' tenure with Las Vegas will end with him having played in just five games and tallying 17 tackles, including 2.0 sacks.

Raiders' Christian Wilkins: Out indefinitely with foot injury
Christian Wilkins underwent surgery Tuesday to repair a Jones Fracture in his foot that he sustained in Sunday's loss to the Broncos, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.Wilkins injured his foot in the first half of Sunday's game and remained in the locker room after halftime. It's a devastating blow for the Las Vegas Raiders, who signed Wilkins to a four-year, $110 million contract in March to reinforce their defensive line alongside All-Pro Maxx Crosby and veteran John Jenkins. Wilkins will eventually be placed on injured reserve, and while he hasn't been ruled out for the year, a return won't likely happen until much later in the regular season. Adam Butler has been the Raiders' top rotational defensive tackle this season, and he should slide into Wilkins' starting spot from here on out.
