Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Win doesn't cure cold spell

Justin Jefferson was held to two receptions on eight targets for 22 yards in Sunday's 34-26 win over the Cowboys.Jefferson stayed under 25 receiving yards for the third straight appearance despite the Minnesota Vikings rattling off consecutive wins. The chemistry with QB J.J. McCarthy is simply not there at the moment, with the duo generating a 50 percent catch rate or worse during the wideout's three-game skid in fantasy. Jefferson had a prime opportunity to turn his fortunes around in the second half when McCarthy rifled a pass to the corner of the end zone that hit his star receiver in the hands before dropping harmlessly to the ground. Fantasy managers may have no choice but to stick with Jefferson through his career-worst slump, as he possesses the skill to break out against the Giants next Sunday.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Struggles continue in Week 14

Justin Jefferson caught two of four targets for 11 yards in Sunday's 31-0 win over the Commanders. For the second straight game, Jefferson failed to reach 20 receiving yards, but this time he didn't have an undrafted rookie under center as an excuse. J.J. McCarthy returned from a concussion in Week 14 and threw a career-high three TDs, but all three went to tight ends, while Jordan Addison was his top option with a 4-62-0 line on seven targets. Jefferson hasn't scored a touchdown himself since Week 9 and hasn't had a 100-yard performance since Week 5, but he gets another golden opportunity to break out in Week 15 against the Cowboys.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Career-low yardage Sunday

Justin Jefferson was held to two receptions on four targets for four yards in Sunday's 26-0 loss to Seattle. The Minnesota Vikings were forced to turn to undrafted rookie Max Brosmer with starter J.J. McCarthy (concussion) unavailable and backup Carson Wentz (shoulder) on injured reserve. The end result was even worse than expected with the third-stringer under center after Jefferson finished the shutout loss with a career-low four receiving yards. The horrid quarterback situation in Minnesota has damaged its star wideout's fantasy value in addition to its playoff hopes. The remaining hope for Jefferson's fantasy managers is that McCarthy can clear the league's concussion protocol by next Sunday's matchup against the Commanders, as he at least possesses the arm strength to take shots down the field towards his superstar receiver.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Four catches in Week 12 loss

Justin Jefferson brought in four of six targets for 48 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 23-6 loss to the Packers on Sunday. It's small consolation for Jefferson's frustrated fantasy managers, but the star wideout either tied for the lead (receptions) or set the pace (receiving yards, targets) for the Vikings on the afternoon in all three major receiving categories. However, J.J. McCarthy's continued struggles led to Jefferson's third sub-50-yard effort in the last four contests, and there presently doesn't appear to be any light at the end of the tunnel for Minnesota's air attack. Jefferson's next matchup doesn't offer any solace, either, considering a Week 13 road matchup against the daunting Seahawks defense awaits next Sunday.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Another middling game with McCarthy

Justin Jefferson caught five of nine targets for 61 yards in Sunday's 19-17 loss to the Bears.Jefferson accounted for 53 of J.J. McCarthy's 74 passing yards in the first half. All 76 of McCarthy's second-half passing yards came on Minnesota's go-ahead drive in the final minutes, which included an eight-yard catch by Jefferson. Unfortunately for the Minnesota Vikings, Chicago answered with a game-winning field goal on the game's final possession. Jefferson is averaging just 54 receiving yards per game in McCarthy's five starts compared to 95 receiving yards in the five games started by Carson Wentz (shoulder). With Wentz done for the season, the Vikings will have little choice but to stick with the struggling McCarthy in Week 12 against the Packers.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Lacks connection with McCarthy

Justin Jefferson recorded four receptions on 12 targets for 37 yards in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Ravens.Opportunity wasn't an issue for Jefferson, as he commanded a season-high 12 targets to lead the team. However, he couldn't get on the same page with J.J. McCarthy -- the Ravens had two interceptions when Jeefferson was targeted -- and his four receptions marked his fewest since Week 2. The duo was particularly poor on deep targets, as all of Jefferson's targets came in the short area of the field, with his longest gain going for just 11 yards. He has now been held below 50 receiving yards in three of McCarthy's four starts this season.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Scores TD in McCarthy's return

Justin Jefferson secured six of nine targets for 47 yards and a touchdown in the Minnesota Vikings' 27-24 win over the Lions on Sunday.Working with J.J. McCarthy as his quarterback for the first time since Week 2, Jefferson finished with team-high reception and target totals while coming just a yard short of drawing even with Jordan Addison for the lead in receiving yards as well. Jefferson's yardage tally was his lowest since Week 1, but his 10-yard touchdown grab to cap off the Vikings' first drive of the contest was also his first trip to the end zone since the opening game of the campaign. Jefferson and McCarthy will continue to build chemistry as the second half of the season unfolds, with their next opportunity coming in a Week 10 home matchup against the Ravens.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Seven catches in lopsided loss

Justin Jefferson brought in seven of 11 targets for 74 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 37-10 loss to the Chargers on Thursday night. The star wideout was in the familiar position of leading the Vikings in receptions, receiving yards and targets, although that didn't lead to anything beyond just a solid stat line. Jefferson has worked well overall with fill-in signal-caller Carson Wentz over the last five games, recording at least five catches and 74 receiving yards in each of those contests. However, he should be back to operating with J.J. McCarthy (ankle) as his quarterback for a Week 9 road divisional showdown with the Lions on Sunday, Nov. 2, a game Jefferson will take a 41-602-1 line into.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Solid numbers in Week 7 loss

Justin Jefferson brought in five of 10 targets for 79 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 28-22 loss to the Eagles on Sunday.Jefferson posted a team-high 40-yard reception during the close contest, but he ultimately played second fiddle to Jordan Addison, who finished with a 9-128-0 line on 12 targets, all team-high figures. Nevertheless, Jefferson's day wasn't a total washout by any stretch, and he extended his streak of 75-plus-yard tallies to five games while also getting to at least five receptions for the fourth consecutive contest. Jefferson hasn't found the end zone since Week 1 against the Bears, however, a matter he'll look to rectify Thursday night when the Vikings and Chargers open the Week 8 slate in Los Angeles.

Vikings' Justin Jefferson: Continues surge in London win

Justin Jefferson brought in seven of 11 targets for 123 yards in the Minnesota Vikings' 21-17 win over the Browns in London on Sunday.Jefferson paced the Vikings in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the day, turning in his second consecutive 100-yard effort in the process. His final reception of the contest was especially critical, as he came down with a 21-yard grab to take the ball to the Browns' 27 yard-line with under two minutes remaining on Minnesota's game-winning drive. Jefferson has displayed excellent chemistry with fill-in signal-caller Carson Wentz over the last pair of contests, but J.J. McCarthy (ankle) may be set to return to action when the Vikings come out of a Week 6 bye to host the Eagles on Sunday, Oct. 19.
