Lance Moore announced his retirement from the NFL on Monday.Moore hangs up his cleats just days after signing with the Falcons, yet he spent most of his career with the division rival Saints, for whom he scored 10 touchdowns in 2008 and won the Super Bowl in 2009. In total, Moore spent eight of his 10 NFL seasons in New Orleans after entering the league as an undrafted rookie from Toledo, while finishing his career with 389 catches for 4,816 receiving yards and 44 scores.

Moore had a nice little run from Weeks 5 through 10, during which he caught four touchdowns in five games. In his five games following, he managed just four catches total as the second-year receiver TJ Jones began making his presence felt. Moore was brought in this offseason due to his familiarity with former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi's scheme. With Lombardi now out of town, it wouldn't be a surprise to see Moore join him as the Detroit Lions look toward the future at receiver.
