Aaron Ross tears Achilles, out for season
Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh announced Thursday that cornerback Aaron Ross would be lost for the season after tearing his Achilles during conditioning drills, FOX Sports reported. Ross was planning to push for a starting job after struggling with a back injury and ultimately missing a chunk of last season.

Ravens make roster moves
The Baltimore Ravens made a series of roster moves Friday, the team announced. Baltimore signed linebacker Nicholas DiMarco, cornerback Dominique Franks, cornerback Aaron Ross, linebacker Austin Spitler and receiver Mike Willie. And the Ravens released linebacker Xavius Boyd, safety Dexter Moody and cornerback Avery Patterson.

Aaron Ross goes on season-ending IR
The New York Giants placed cornerback Aaron Ross on season-ending injured reserve Saturday, the New York Daily News reports. Ross' season is over due to a back injury and this was considered a surprise move by the Giants. Ross had already been ruled out for the Week 5 game. He has four tackles and an interception this season in four games for the Giants.

New York Giants DT Linval Joseph, CBs Aaron Ross, TE Adrien Robinson, CB Jayron Hosley, C David Baas and G Chris Snee have been ruled out Week 5. Snee is expected to be placed on IR after his hip injury hasn't responded to rest and rehab.

Giants defense lack standout performers Week 3
The New York Giants defense didn't have a strong showing in a 38-0 loss Week 3 at Carolina, which meant it didn't have many individual standout performers on defense. Safety Ryan Mundy had a team-high nine tackles (five solo). Defensive tackle Linval Joseph (five solo) and linebacker Mark Herzlich (four solo) both finished with eight tackles. Cornerback Prince Amukamara had six tackles (four solo) and one pass defense. The Giants managed only one sack from Mathias Kiwanuka, who had four solo tackles. Defensive lineman Jason Pierre-Paul had five solo tackles (one tackle for loss). Cornerback Aaron Ross, who started for the injured Corey Webster, had the team's lone interception.
