Vikings cut ties with offensive lineman Charlie Johnson
The Minnesota Vikings have released offensive lineman Charlie Johnson, the team announced Friday. Johnson has spent the last four seasons with Minnesota after coming over from the Colts in 2011. The veteran only missed three games in his four seasons with the Vikings. He was due $2.45 million in base salary and has a $2.5 million cap hit for 2015. There is no dead money associated with the transaction.

Minnesota Vikings running back Matt Asiata (foot) and wideout Greg Jennings (hamstring) are active for the game against Chicago after being listed as probable. They're among a slew of probables suiting up for Minnesota. The list includes safety Robert Blanton (ankle), safety Antone Exum (knee), defensive tackle Sharrif Floyd (knee), tight end Chase Ford (foot), offensive tackle Michael Harris (foot), guard Charlie Johnson (ankle) and safety Andrew Sendejo (thumb). Wideout Jarius Wright is active after being questionable with a back injury.

Chad Greenway, Kyle Rudolph questionable for Vikings in Week 17
Minnesota Vikings linebacker Chad Greenway (knee) and tight end Kyle Rudolph (ankle) are listed as questionable for Week 17 against the Bears. Greenway was unable to practice all week while Rudolph only practiced Friday on a limited basis. Wide receiver Jarius Wright (back) is also listed as questionable. Rookie linebacker Anthony Barr (knee) and Brandon Watts (hamstring) have been ruled out. Guard Charlie Johnson (ankle), Greg Jennings (hamstring), Antone Exum (knee), Mike Harris (foot), Chase Ford (foot), Robert Blanton (ankle), Andrew Sendejo (thumb), Sharrif Floyd (knee) and Matt Asiata (foot) are all listed as probable. The Vikings are currently 6-point favorites against Chicago Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings listed tight end Kyle Rudolph as inactive Sunday at Miami. Rudolph was listed as doubtful with a knee and ankle injury. Other inactive players included safety Ahmad Dixon, cornerback Shaun Prater, fullback Zach Line, linebacker Anthony Barr, tackle Carter Bykowski and guard Charlie Johnson. The Minnesota Vikings have listed CB Robert Blanton, FB Zach Line, LB Anthony Barr, OL Carter Bykowski, OL David Yankey, DT Sharrif Floyd and OL Charlie Johnson as inactive Week 15 against the Lions. Barr, Blanton and Floyd had already been ruled out prior to Sunday. All three players are dealing with knee injuries. Blanton also tweaked his akle. The other four players listed are considered healthy scratches.

Charlie Johnson ends up back in Minnesota
Minnesota Vikings offensive lineman Charlie Johnson had his contract voided earlier in the year, but he eventually found his way back. According to 1500ESPN.com, Johnson has agreed to a two-year deal to remain in Minnesota. The contract will pay him $2.5 million per year. Johnson has started all but one game over the last three years for the Vikings.
