    Curtis Lofton: Underwent offseason surgeries

    Curtis Lofton, currently an unrestricted free agent, said Thursday he underwent offseason ankle and knee surgeries, Alex Marvez of FOXSports.com reports.Despite an offseason filled with recovering from surgeries, Lofton is not ready to hang up his cleats as the 30-year-old hopes to sign with a team prior to training camp with the intention of playing throughout the 2016 season. He tallied 64 tackles and one sack in nine starts with the Raiders during his 2015 campaign, proving he can still add value to a linebacker corps.

    Curtis Lofton: Released by Raiders

    Curtis Lofton was released by the Raiders on Friday.Lofton signed a three-year, $18 million contract with the Raiders last offseason, but is released just one year later Friday with a failed physical designation. In his lone season in Oakland, the veteran linebacker totaled 64 tackles and one sack in nine starts. Yet to miss a single game across his eight-year career, Lofton will now look to land somewhere prior to training camp.

    Raiders officially sign LB Curtis Lofton

    The Oakland Raiders announced Wednesday night that they have signed linebacker Curtis Lofton.  Lofton was last with the Saints, where he spent the previous three seasons. A defensive captain for the past two years, Lofton totaled 145 tackles and a forced fumble in 2014. Prior to joining the Saints, Lofton played for the Falcons, which drafted him in the second round in 2008.  In his seven-year career, Lofton has combined for 885 tackles, 11 forced fumbles and three interceptions.

    The Oakland Raiders have agreed to terms with nose tackle Dan Williams and linebacker Curtis Lofton on Wednesday, reports Michael C. Wright of ESPN. The move takes Oakland out of the Terrance Knighton sweepstakes. Williams, 27, spent his first five years in the league with the Cardinals. He started nine of 16 games last season, registering 24 tackles and one sack. Lofton, 28, has started all but one of his first 112 games in the NFL.
