Joey Slye K | TEN
Joey Slye: Dropped by Houston
The Texans waived Slye on Thursday.
After Houston elevated Slye from its practice squad ahead of both of its first two games to handle kicking duties, the 25-year-old was officially signed to the 53-man roster prior to last week's loss to the Panthers. Though he performed capably by connecting on 11 of his 13 kicks for Houston, Slye will ultimately lose hold of the job with top kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn (leg) on track to return from injured reserve for the Texans' Week 4 matchup with Buffalo. Slye shouldn't have much trouble finding an opportunity with Houston's or another organization's practice squad, if he isn't immediately claimed off waivers or signed to a 53-man roster when he clears waivers.

Matthew Wright K | HOU
Jaguars' Matthew Wright: Officially promoted for Week 4
The Jaguars elevated Wright from their practice squad ahead of Thursday's game against the Bengals, James Palmer of NFL Network reports.
As expected, Wright will at least temporarily join the Jaguars to handle kicking duties while Josh Lambo (personal) misses the Week 4 matchup. Jacksonville hasn't indicated that Lambo will miss additional time beyond Thursday's game, but a solid showing by Wright could put Lambo's job on notice in any case. Through the Jaguars' first three games, Lambo has missed all three of his field-goal attempts and has converted on only five of seven extra-point tries.

Ka'imi Fairbairn K | HOU
Texans' Ka'imi Fairbairn: Expected back Week 4
The Texans plan to add Fairbairn (leg) to the 53-man roster this week and have him assume kicking duties Sunday against the Bills, Aaron Wilson of Sportstalk 790 Houston reports. "I expect him to," head coach David Culley said of Fairbairn's pending return from injured reserve.
After missing the Texans' first three games while recovering from a leg injury, Fairbairn was designated to return from injured reserve Monday and took part in practice that day. Houston has apparently been satisfied with how Fairbairn has checked out during his first couple of workouts, with special teams coordinator Frank Ross telling Aaron Reiss of The Athletic on Thursday that the kicker is ready to play. Assuming Fairbairn is in fact activated from IR before Saturday's deadline for Week 4 eligibility, he'll take back kicking duties from Joey Slye, who's missed one of five field-goal attempts and one of eight extra-point attempts through Houston's first three contests.

Matthew Wright K | HOU
Jaguars' Matthew Wright: Kicking for Jacksonville in Week 4
The Jaguars will elevate Wright from their practice squad to handle kicking duties Thursday against the Bengals, J.P. Shadrick of the team's official site reports.
He'll be summoned as a replacement for Josh Lambo (personal), who was been ruled out for the contest. Assuming Lambo's absence from the team isn't a long-term concern, Wright will likely revert to the practice squad shortly after Thursday's contest. Wright's previous NFL action came in three games with the Steelers last season, when he connected on all four of his field-goal attempts and all seven of his extra-point tries.

Nick Folk K | NYJ
Patriots' Nick Folk: Limited Wednesday
Folk was limited at practice Wednesday due to a left knee injury.
The Patriots haven't revealed whether the injury is a minor concern that Folk is managing, or if he hurt his knee during Wednesday's practice. Folk is the only kicker on New England's active roster, with Quinn Nordin (abdomen) currently residing on injured reserve.

Wil Lutz K | DEN
Saints' Wil Lutz: Week 4 debut unlikely
The Saints aren't expected to activate Lutz (abdomen) from injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the Giants, Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football reports.
For the first time all season, Lutz will be eligible to play this week, but since the Saints haven't even designated him for a return from IR, he looks like he'll need more recovering time. The 27-year-old kicker underwent core-muscle surgery in early August and was given an 8-to-12-week recovery timeline, so it wouldn't be surprising if he missed more games beyond Sunday's. Aldrick Rosas was signed off the practice squad in Lutz's absence and had been performing well before missed two field goals in Sunday's win over the Patriots.

Jake Elliott K | PHI
Eagles' Jake Elliott: Makes three PATs
Elliott did not attempt a field goal but made all three of his extra-point tries in Monday night's 41-21 loss to the Cowboys.
Elliott's output was restricted by the Eagles' offensive struggles, limiting him to three points for the second straight week. With just 12 points through three games, Elliott will hope to get more opportunities in Sunday's upcoming matchup versus the Chiefs.
-
Graham Gano K | NYG
Giants' Graham Gano: Makes both kicks
Gano did not attempt an extra point but made his two field-goal tries in Sunday's 17-14 loss to the Falcons.
Gano converted from 25 and 31 yards during the first half but wasn't called upon afterward, a byproduct of the Giants' inconsistent offense. With 37 straight made field goals, Gano is as reliable as kickers get, but his weekly involvement is difficult to project. Through three games, he now sports 24 points on the season.
-
Matt Gay K | SF
Rams' Matt Gay: Double figures versus Bucs
Gay made both his field-goal attempts and all four of his extra-point tries in Sunday's 34-24 win over the Buccaneers.
Gay converted from 48 and 26 yards on his field goals, maintaining his perfect record on the season. Through three games, he now sports 29 points total, having scored at least nine in every contest.

Rodrigo Blankenship K | TB
Colts' Rodrigo Blankenship: Scores 10 points
Blankenship made three of four field-goal attempts and his only extra-point try in Sunday's 25-16 loss to the Titans.
Blankenship converted from 43, 28 and 24 yards before going wide right with his final field-goal attempt, a 51-yarder. With his second straight 10-point outing, Blankenship now sports 24 through the Colts' first three games.
