  • Bears' Justin Fields: Doubtful, won't start

Fields (ribs) is listed as doubtful for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.

Head coach Matt Nagy confirmed Andy Dalton will get another start, saying Fields isn't quite ready to play. Though the Bears are listing Fields as doubtful rather than out, the rookie looks like he'll just be the backup anyway in the unlikely event he avoids the inactive list. Fields logged limited practices Wednesday through Friday, perhaps setting him up for a return to the starting role Week 14 at Green Bay.

Bears' Andy Dalton: Named starter with Fields doubtful

Dalton will start Sunday's game against the Cardinals with fellow quarterback Justin Fields (ribs) listed doubtful for the contest, Jeff Dickerson of ESPN.comreports.

Fields was a limited practice participant throughout Wednesday through Friday and could make it back as soon as Week 14 in Green Bay. First, Dalton will make another start, likely without the help of Allen Robinson, who's listed as doubtful with a hamstring injury for the third week in a row after missing the Bears' previous two games.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: To be treated as game-time call

Coach Kliff Kingsbury said Friday that Murray (ankle) will be a game-time decision for Sunday's matchup with the Bears, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Murray seems on track to play after practicing again Friday, while DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) is perhaps more of a question mark. That said, there's been no confirmation on either player one way or another, so both should be treated as game-time decisions unless there's something more definitive before inactive lists are released Sunday morning. The Cardinals have an early 1:00 ET kickoff this week, traveling to Chicago to face a Bears squad that has more than a few key injuries of its own.

  • Eagles' Gardner Minshew: Could draw Week 13 start

Minshew took about half of the available reps with the Eagles' first-team offense this week and could be needed to start Sunday against the Jets with Jalen Hurts (ankle) listed as questionable for the contest, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Head coach Nick Sirianni noted that he's confident in either of his two quarterbacks, but Hurts will retain the starting job if he's able to make enough progress in his recovery from the sprained ankle that limited his practice activity this week. Since the Eagles kick off among the early wave of Sunday games at 1 p.m. ET, fantasy managers looking for clarity on Hurts' status should have alternatives available in the event he's inactive, with Minshew representing one of those options. Though his lone game action this season has come in garbage time of a blowout win over the Lions in Week 8, Minshew showed during his previous two seasons in Jacksonville that he can do an adequate job of directing an offense while presenting some threat as a scrambler, though not nearly to the degree of Hurts. Over 24 career games, Minshew owns a 63 percent completion rate to go with 6.9 yards per attempt and a 37:11 TD:INT.

  • Jalen Hurts QB | PHI

Eagles' Jalen Hurts: Questionable for Sunday

Head coach Nick Sirianni said Hurts (ankle) will be listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Jets, after splitting first-team practice reps evenly with Gardner Minshew this week, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Sirianni sounded more confident earlier in the week, while Hurts himself said Wednesday that he would be fine for Sunday's game. The 23-year-old quarterback now appears closer to truly questionable, though it's a situation where gamesmanship could be a factor, as the Eagles' running game in particular would look different with backup Gardner Minshew replacing Hurts, who enters Sunday ranked 10th in the league for rushing yards (695) and tied for fifth in rushing touchdowns (eight). Whatever the case, fantasy managers will need to treat Hurts as truly questionable, with the benefit of an early kickoff (1 p.m. ET on Sunday) if he ends up a game-time decision.

  • Jake Fromm QB | DET

Giants' Jake Fromm: Set for backup duties

Coach Joe Judge said Friday that Fromm is expected to operate as the No. 2 quarterback during Sunday's game against the Dolphins, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Fromm joined the Giants on Tuesday when the team signed him off Buffalo's practice squad. With Daniel Jones (neck) out for Week 13, Mike Glennon is primed to step into the starting lineup.

  • Daniel Jones QB | IND

Giants' Daniel Jones: Won't play Sunday

Giants head coach Joe Judge said Jones (neck) hasn't been cleared for contact work and has been ruled out for Sunday's game at Miami, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Jones was able to practice as a limited participant this week after picking up a neck strain in the Week 12 win over the Eagles, but he hasn't made enough progress to have a chance to suit up Sunday. According to Pat Leonard of the New York Daily News, Jones' injury isn't believed to be of the season-ending variety, though it's unclear when the signal-caller will be cleared for contact work. Mike Glennon is set to start at quarterback for New York on Sunday, while Jake Fromm, who was signed off Buffalo's practice squad Tuesday, will handle backup duties.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Workmanlike effort in win

Prescott completed 26 of 40 passes for 238 yards with a touchdown and an interception in the Cowboys' 27-17 win over the Saints on Thursday night. He also rushed three times for minus-3 yards.

Prescott averaged a modest six yards per attempt and counted a 41-yard first-half connection with Amari Cooper as his longest completion. However, he made only one notable mistake, a pick which didn't result in any points for the Saints. Prescott failed to throw multiple touchdown passes for only the second time since Week 3, but he still turned in a serviceable fantasy effort overall. Next up for Prescott and his now healthy receiving corps will be will be a road matchup versus Washington a week from Sunday.

  • Josh Johnson QB | CIN

Josh Johnson: Moved back to practice squad

Johnson reverted to the Jets' practice squad Monday.

The quarterback served as the backup to Zach Wilson in Week 12 against the Texans, but with Joe Flacco being reinstated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday, Johnson is unlikely to find himself back on the active roster ahead of Sunday's game versus the Eagles.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Stays limited at practice

Murray (ankle) practiced in a limited capacity Thursday, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

While Murray has yet to log a full session this week, there's an expectation from the Cardinals that both he and wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins (hamstring) will return to the fold Sunday at Chicago, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Murray will have one more chance Friday to make a positive impression on Cardinals coaches and trainers with the aim to avoid a designation for Week 13 action. If he does enter the weekend as questionable, though, his status won't be confirmed until 90 minutes before Sunday's 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff.
