  • Josh Allen QB | BUF

Bills' Josh Allen: Wins battle of superstar QBs

Allen completed 15 of 26 pass attempts for 315 yards and three touchdowns, adding 59 rushing yards and another score on 11 carries in Sunday's 38-20 rout of the Chiefs.

Allen won the battle of young phenom quarterbacks over Patrick Mahomes, and a lightning storm delay at halftime couldn't derail his monster performance. The gunslinger's 12.1 yards-per-attempt set a new high for any quarterback this season. After a slow start to the season, Allen has begun to perform at an MVP level over the past few weeks. He will look to keep the momentum rolling in a road matchup against the Titans next Monday.

  • Browns' Baker Mayfield: Comes up short in wild loss

Mayfield completed 23 of 32 passes for 305 yards and two touchdowns in Sunday's 47-42 loss to the Chargers. He added eight yards on two carries.

The fourth-year quarterback put together his most productive game of the year, tossing multiple TDs for the first time in five games while topping 300 yards for the second time, but Mayfield's numbers were still dwarfed by Justin Herbert's five-TD effort. Cleveland's run-heavy offense doesn't often give Mayfield a chance to rack up big totals, but he might get another one in Week 6 as the Browns try to keep pace with Kyler Murray and the Cardinals.

  • Dak Prescott QB | DAL

Cowboys' Dak Prescott: Boosts fantasy production in win

Prescott completed 22 of 32 passes for 302 yards with three touchdowns and one interception in the Cowboys' 44-20 win over the Giants on Sunday. He also rushed twice for six yards and lost a fumble.

After three straight games with what would be considered pedestrian yardage totals by his standards, Prescott bounced back in that department with his second tally of over 300 yards on the season. He also extended his streak of multiple touchdown passes to three games by connecting with CeeDee Lamb, Amari Cooper and Ezekiel Elliott on scoring tosses of 49, 24 and four yards, respectively. Prescott's TD:INT now stands at an elite 13:3 heading into a Week 6 road showdown with the Patriots.

  • Kyler Murray QB | MIN

Cardinals' Kyler Murray: Quiet but sufficient in Week 5

Murray completed 22 of 31 passes for 239 yards and one touchdown against San Francisco on Sunday, adding zero yards on seven carries.

The Cardinals weren't exactly lighting it up in the 17-10 victory, and Murray might wish he could have a few of his throws back, but completing 71.0 percent of his passes at 7.7 yards per attempt is more than respectable. The Cardinals will likely need more from Murray on the road against Cleveland in Week 6, so he'll almost certainly be busier in his next showing.

  • Justin Herbert QB | LAC

Chargers' Justin Herbert: Five touchdowns in high-scoring win

Herbert completed 26 of 43 attempts for 398 yards and four touchdowns. He also carried the ball four times for 29 yards and an additional score in the 47-42 win over the Browns on Sunday.

Herbert's extraordinary outing set the record for most 300-yard games through two years in the league (11) as he absolutely eviscerated a stout Browns defense to the tune of 15.3 yards per completion. The young signal caller completed at least one 20-yard pass to five different targets as the offense relentlessly attacked downfield. It certainly helps that the Chargers seem intent on maximizing their possessions, as Herbert and company converted all three fourth-down conversions in the second half, including two on a pivotal momentum-changing drive down 14 early in the third quarter. Once again, the emerging connection with Mike Williams paid dividends as the duo connected on a 72-yard strike for the longest scoring play this year for the Chargers, but usual suspects Keenan Allen and Austin Ekeler also chipped in with their typical workloads. If any team can stymie Herbert and company it figures to be the Week 6 opponent, the Ravens, but given the second-year QB's brilliance, he's firmly in the must-start category regardless of the matchup.

  • Derek Carr QB | NO

Raiders' Derek Carr: Second consecutive subdued effort

Carr completed 22 of 35 passes for 206 yards with no touchdowns and one interception in the Raiders' 20-9 loss to the Bears on Sunday. He also rushed three times for 10 yards and hurt his neck "a little bit" according to head coach Jon Gruden, Adam Hill of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

After a three-game stretch to open the season during which he put up an NFL-high amount of passing yardage, Carr generated a pedestrian total for the second straight game. The Raiders' offense was listless as a whole against what was considered an inferior opponent coming in, and the veteran signal-caller didn't connect for more than 56 yards with any one of his pass catchers. Carr's neck issue doesn't sound overly serious as per Gruden's description, but that will certainly be something to monitor throughout the week ahead of a Week 6 road trip to Denver to tangle with the Broncos.

  • Broncos' Teddy Bridgewater: Quality performance in loss

Bridgewater (concussion) completed 24 of 38 pass attempts for 288 yards, two touchdowns and an interception in Sunday's 27-19 loss to the Steelers.

Bridgewater was able to suit up after suffering a concussion last week, and he did not appear to be hampered by the injury based on his performance. The interception was the veteran's first through five games, bringing his TD:INT ratio to 6:1. Bridgewater has a lower ceiling than most starting fantasy options, but he does provide a consistent, safe option most weeks. He could be worth a look in Week 6 against a Raiders defense that doesn't strike fear into many opposing offenses.

  • Trey Lance QB | LAC

49ers' Trey Lance: Uneven in first start

Lance completed 15-of-29 passes for 192 yards and an interception against Arizona on Sunday, adding 89 yards on 16 carries.

Coach Kyle Shanahan said after the game that Jimmy Garoppolo (calf) remains the starting quarterback when healthy, so whenever his health allows a return to the field, the 49ers appear intent to get him back into the starting lineup. San Francisco is 2-3 and any further losses in the short term could really harm their odds of making the playoffs. The 49ers have a bye in Week 6 before facing the Colts in Week 7, but it's not clear where Garoppolo will be in his recovery by then.

  • Bears' Justin Fields: Leads team to victory

Fields completed 12 of 20 passes for 111 yards and a touchdown and registered four yards on three rushing attempts in the Bears' 20-9 win over the Raiders on Sunday.

With the Bears leading this game from the second quarter on, the team leaned on their defense and running backs to protect their lead. Even when Fields was throwing the ball, the majority of play calls were conservative, keeping Fields from using his big arm to stretch the defense. For fantasy, he'll be a matchup-dependent option who could have significant downside in games Chicago controls.

  • Jared Goff QB | DET

Lions' Jared Goff: Struggles in losing effort

Goff completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 203 yards, no touchdowns and one interception in Sunday's 19-17 loss to Minnesota.

Goff turned in the worst performance since joining the Lions this season, finishing with new lows in passing yards, completion percentage and yards per attempt. The former first-overall pick has seen his share of ups and downs through five contests, turning in three positive outings while failing to score a touchdown in the other two. Goff isn't currently an option to rely on in most standard fantasy formats heading into a matchup against the Bengals next Sunday.
