Daniel Jones QB | IND
Giants' Daniel Jones: Inactive as expected Week 13
Jones is inactive for Sunday's game against the Seahawks.
This announcement merely makes what was expected a formality, even with Jones managing to work back to a limited practice Friday. Colt McCoy, who averaged just 3.1 yards per attempt after taking over for Jones against the Bengals in Week 12, will draw the start against a Seahawks defense that's improved against the pass of late, allowing 240 yards per game through the air over the last three contests (compared to a 328.8 season figure). Jones' next opportunity to suit up will come Week 14 against the Cardinals.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Starting assignment on tap
Tagovailoa (thumb), who is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals, was seen warming up with the Dolphins' first-team offense prior to the contest, while Ryan Fitzpatrick worked with the second team, Cameron Wolfe of ESPN.com reports.
Miami likely won't formally announce a starting quarterback until minutes before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff, but Tagovailoa's involvement with the top unit in pregame drills is as sure of a sign as any that he'll be receiving the nod over Fitzpatrick, who filled in for the injured rookie in the Week 12 win over the Jets. Despite being listed as a limited participant in practices Wednesday through Friday, Tagovailoa reportedly handled most of the first-team reps each day, clearing up most of the concern the Dolphins might have had about his injured left thumb.

Marcus Mariota QB | WAS
Raiders' Marcus Mariota: Assumes backup role
Mariota will handle backup duties for Sunday's game against the Jets, Paul Gutierrez of ESPN.com reports.
Nathan Peterman had been handling the backup job behind Derek Carr since Week 8, but Mariota will get the opportunity Sunday. It's unclear if Mariota has taken over as the team's No. 2 option for good or if this is just an isolated occurrence.

Nathan Peterman QB | ATL
Raiders' Nathan Peterman: Loses backup job
Peterman (coach's decision) is officially inactive for Sunday's game against the Jets.
Peterman had been handling the backup duties behind Derek Carr since Week 8, but Marcus Mariota will assume the position Week 13. Peterman saw work in last week's blowout loss to Atlanta, completing three of five passes for 25 yards. It's unclear if Peterman was relegated to the No. 3 job for good or just for Week 13.

Jake Luton QB | LV
Jaguars' Jake Luton: Inactive Week 13
Luton (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game at Minnesota.
The 24-year-old lost out on the starting job to Mike Glennon last week, and he's now been replaced as the top backup with Gardner Minshew (thumb) cleared to play. Luton struggled in his three appearances this season, completing 60 of 110 passes for two touchdowns and six interceptions, while also adding a 13-yard rushing touchdown. He'll likely remain a healthy scratch if the other two quarterbacks remain healthy the rest of the season.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Active, likely starting Week 13
Tagovailoa (thumb) is active for Sunday's game against the Bengals.
The Dolphins haven't formally announced that Tagovailoa will start in his return from a one-game absence, but he's expected to receive the nod over Ryan Fitzpatrick after handling most of the first-team work in practice this week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Over his first three NFL starts before he suffered the left thumb injury, Tagovailoa was a modest performer from a fantasy standpoint, averaging 166.6 passing yards, 1.6 touchdowns and 11.3 rushing yards per contest.

Matthew Stafford QB | LAR
Lions' Matthew Stafford: Suiting up again Sunday
Stafford (thumb) is active for Sunday's game at Chicago.
Stafford will play through a slight ligament tear in his right thumb for a fourth consecutive contest. In the first three, he completed 65 percent of his passes for 749 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. However, Stafford still won't have his top running back or wide receiver -- D'Andre Swift (illness) and Kenny Golladay (hip) -- at his disposal.

Trace McSorley QB | WAS
Ravens' Trace McSorley: Trending toward backup role
McSorley is expected to serve as the Ravens' No. 2 quarterback Tuesday against the Cowboys with Lamar Jackson (illness) in line to be activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list Sunday, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
After testing positive for the coronavirus Thanksgiving Day and sitting out the Ravens' Week 12 loss to the Steelers while completing a 10-day quarantine, Jackson looks poised to return to Baltimore's team facility Sunday. Though Jackson will have to shake off some rust due to the missed time, he'll at least have the benefit of a practice session Sunday and a walk-through Monday, which should keep him sufficiently prepared to reclaim starting duties. McSorley came on late in the Week 12 loss to replace Robert Griffin (hamstring), and with the latter having since landed on injured reserve, the second-year quarterback from Penn State should serve as Jackson's top backup for at least the next three contests.

Lamar Jackson QB | BAL
Ravens' Lamar Jackson: Looks set to start Week 13
The Ravens are expected to activate Jackson (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list and have him start Tuesday against the Cowboys, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Jackson is first eligible to return from the list Sunday, so assuming he's negative for COVID-19 in his latest round of testing, the Ravens should add him back to the 53-man roster later in the day. Though Jackson may be rusty after having been away from the team for the past week and a half, he'll at least have the opportunity to practice Sunday and take part in a walk-through Monday practice time ahead of Tuesday's contest. Jackson's matchup versus a vulnerable Dallas defense is a favorable one, but he may have to make do without two of his top targets in tight end Mark Andrews and wideout Willie Snead, both of whom remain on the reserve/COVID-19 list as of Sunday.

Tua Tagovailoa QB | ATL
Dolphins' Tua Tagovailoa: Expected to start Sunday
Tagovailoa (thumb), who is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Bengals, is expected to start, barring any issues during pregame warmups, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
The rookie quarterback injured the thumb on his throwing hand in practice back on Nov. 25 and sat out last weekend's win over the Jets, allowing Ryan Fitzpatrick to pick up a start. Per Rapoport, in anticipation of returning to the lineup, Tagovailoa took most of the Dolphins' first-team signal-caller reps at practice this week. While Tagovailoa's Week 13 active status will be confirmed prior to the first wave of games Sunday, the Dolphins may not formally announce a starting quarterback.
