McGough is likely headed for the practice squad after the Seahawks traded for Brett Hundley on Wednesday, Gregg Bell of The Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Seattle apparently wasn't too impressed with the backup quarterback battle between McGough and veteran Austin Davis, thus motivating the front office to bring in Hundley behind starter Russell Wilson. McGough, a rookie seventh-round pick, should at least stick with the organization on the practice squad once the preseason ends, though he'll need to clear waivers beforehand. There remains a possibility, however, that the team could carry three quarterbacks until Hundley has a strong grasp of the playbook.

Goff won't play Thursday's preseason finale against the Saints, Lindsey Thiry of ESPN.com reports.

Goff didn't need to prove anything, but it's odd he wasn't used at all this preseason. Fantasy owners should be itching to see how well Goff and Brandin Cooks jell in a live game. Nevertheless, the third-year pro will be ready to take on Oakland in the season opener and look top his Pro Bowl performance from last year.

Garoppolo will sit out of Thursday's preseason finale against the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Garoppolo brought an instant spark to the aching 49ers last season and is a lock to be their Week 1 starter, so there's no use in pushing him further. He played in three exhibition contests, completing 22 of 37 passes for 307 yards, one touchdown and one interception. C.J. Beathard will start in his place.

Beathard will start Thursday's preseason game against the Chargers, Tom Pelissero of NFL.com reports.

Jimmy Garoppolo will wear street clothes during the exhibition finale. Beathard is the clear-cut No. 2 QB in San Francisco, and he'll mostly play against and with depth players Thursday. The 23-year-old is still a project for the Niners after he played seven games last year, completing 55 percent of his passes for 1,430 yards, four touchdowns and six interceptions.

Brissett is expected to start Thursday's preseason game at Cincinnati, Andrew Walker of the Colts' official site reports.

Andrew Luck has received enough work in the first three games (32 pass attempts, five rushes) to not press his luck with a minor foot injury in tow. With Luck out of commission, Brissett will act as the starter in the Colts' exhibition finale, as he did 15 times last season. Entering the campaign as Luck's backup could lead Brissett to see the field this season, especially considering the former's injury woes the past few years.

Dobbs will start Thursday's preseason game against the Panthers.

Dobbs thus represents a lineup option for those trying their DFS luck in Thursday's full slate of preseason finales. More importantly, Dobbs' performance in the contest will help determine whether he or Mason Rudolph ends up as the Steelers' No. 3 QB this season.

Head coach Jason Garrett said Tuesday that Rush will enter the season as the backup quarterback, David Moore of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Rush has not been a standout backup for the Cowboys since joining the team last season, but Garrett went on to praise Rush's body of work since the start of the offseason. Should starter Dak Prescott suffer an injury at any point this season, Dallas will not be in great standing with Rush as its current backup.

Boyle is expected to get more snaps for Thursday's preseason finale against the Chiefs, Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

With the Packers electing to have DeShone Kizer close out last week's loss to the Raiders, Boyle did not get a chance to play. Boyle is still not expected to make the team's final roster, but he should have plenty of chances to prove his worth Thursday.

Rodgers (illness), who did not practice Monday, is back at work Tuesday, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.

Like many key starters throughout the league, Rodgers isn't in line to play in his team's preseason finale Thursday against the Chiefs. In that contest, look for reserve QB Tim Boyle to garner more snaps than Brett Hundley and DeShone Kizer.

Taylor (wrist/finger) won't play in Thursday's preseason finale against the Lions, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Taylor suffered a bruised wrist and a dislocated pinkie in preseason action this past Thursday, but the plan to rest him in the team's preseason finale is due to coach Hue Jackson's decision to rest his starters, as opposed to any significant injury concerns. As a result, Baker Mayfield will draw the start this week before returning to backup duties behind Taylor when the Browns open their regular-season slate against the Steelers on Sept. 9.
