  • Bryce Petty QB | MIA

Jets' Bryce Petty: Remains sidelined in Week 4

Petty (shoulder) has been ruled out for the Jets' Week 4 game against the Seahawks.

Petty is yet to be active for a game this season. However, he's still a distant No. 3 QB on the team's depth chart.

  • Brian Hoyer QB | LV

Bears' Brian Hoyer: In line for another start

Hoyer is expected to start Sunday's game against Detroit, NFL.com's Ian Rapoport reports.

With Jay Cutler absent from practice and listed as doubtful, Hoyer will almost certainly be under center Sunday afternoon. He'll draw a favorable matchup against a Detroit defense that may be missing DE Ezekiel Ansah (ankle) and DeAndre Levy (quad). However, top wideout Alshon Jeffery is dealing with hamstring and knee injuries, according to Rich Campbell of the Chicago Tribune.

  • Patriots' Jacoby Brissett: Throwing at Friday's practice

Brissett (thumb) was seen throwing passes before Friday's practice, the Boston Globe reports.

Brissett's status for this weekend's game against the Bills remains unclear after he sprained his right thumb last Thursday, but the fact that he was seen throwing passes prior to drill work Friday seems encouraging. The rookie was reportedly sporting gloves, which could help improve his grip if his thumb's condition requires extra support. With teammate Jimmy Garoppolo (shoulder) also entering the weekend with his status yet to be revealed, the Patriots' practice report should help clarify their starting quarterback prior to Sunday.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Says 'no doubt' he will play Sunday

Wilson (knee, ankle) said Thursday there is "no doubt" he will play Sunday at the Jets, the Seattle Times reports.

Wilson, who sprained the MCL in his left knee last Sunday, said he has had no limitations in practice this week. He was listed as a full participant Wednesday and Thursday. He will wear a knee brace Sunday but said he doesn't expect it to be a hinderance. He is also still recovering from a right high-ankle sprain suffered in Week 2.

  • Jameis Winston QB | NYG

Buccaneers' Jameis Winston: Looking to reduce number of pass attempts

Winston is putting up the ball at an inordinately high rate to date in 2016, something the Bucs are looking to rectify, Kevin Patra of NFL.com reports.

The second-year signal-caller has already tallied two games with 50-plus pass attempts in 2016, a mark he only reached once all of his rookie campaign. The extra drop-backs have unsurprisingly resulted in more turnovers, as Winston has six interceptions and two lost fumbles through the first three weeks. He's also been much less efficient in the two games, both losses, that have featured the elevated number of throws, as he's seen a 14-point drop in completion percentage (down to 57.3 from 71.9) and almost three yards less per attempt (down to 5.89 from 8.78) when compared to his numbers in those respective categories in the season-opening victory over the Falcons. Head coach Dirk Koetter has expressed a desire for a much more balanced attack leading up to the Week 4 tilt against the Broncos, but achieving that will be challenging without the steady chain-moving presence of Doug Martin (hamstring) in the backfield for what figures to be at least another two games. Although Charles Sims did provide some reason for optimism by averaging a solid 4.2 YPC in Week 3 versus the Rams, the going on the ground figures to be a lot tougher against a stalwart Denver front seven come Sunday, which could lead to another heavy workload for Winston's arm.

  • Andy Dalton QB | PHI

Bengals' Andy Dalton: Solid in efficient Week 4 victory

Dalton completed 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions in Thursday's 22-7 victory over the Dolphins. He also netted minus-12 yards on six rushes and fumbled twice but recovered both.

The veteran signal-caller turned in an efficient performance against a Dolphins defense that has struggled to defend the pass through the first four weeks. Dalton's most spectacular play came on a first-quarter scramble where he deftly side-stepped the rush and slung a 51-yard heave downfield to a leaping A.J. Green, who snared the pass at its highest point. He also found four other receivers on the night, but looked Green's way the most by far (10 targets). Through four weeks, Dalton has put the ball up 146 times, as compared to the 116 attempts he tallied over the same time period last season. Despite the considerable uptick, he's only netted three touchdown passes, but the Bengals' aggressive air approach, if it endures, could certainly pay dividends for Dalton's fantasy owners throughout the season.

  • Ryan Tannehill QB | TEN

Dolphins' Ryan Tannehill: Struggles throughout forgetable Week 4 performance

Tannehill completed 15 of 25 passes for 189 yards with a touchdown and interception in Thursday's 22-7 loss to the Bengals. He took five sacks and lost a fumble as well.

The stark reality of a complete absence of an NFL-caliber running attack smacked Tannehill and the Dolphins in the face in this one, as the Bengals seemed largely unconcerned with Miami's ground attack. Instead, they pinned their ears back and came after Tannehill, who was harassed frequently in addition to the five takedowns he endured. The highlight of the fifth-year pro's evening-- and that of the team as a whole for that matter-- was a pretty 74-yard scoring connection to a wide open Kenny Stills in the first quarter. Besides the typically reliable Jarvis Landry, who hauled in 70 percent of his 10 targets, Tannehill only completed two other passes to a receiver after that early bomb, both of which went to DeVante Parker. Tannehill and the Dolphins will now have 10 days to prepare for a rebound in a Week 5 home date with the Titans.

  • Russell Wilson QB | NYG

Seahawks' Russell Wilson: Full practice Wednesday

Wilson (knee) was a full practice participant Wednesday, Curtis Crabtree of Sports Radio KJR reports.

"He's doing well," head coach Pete Carroll told the Seahawks' official site prior to drills. "He's going along just like we've seen the last few weeks. He's upbeat and feeling good, and he has worked really, really hard to do everything he can to be right, and he's going to [practice]. We'll know more after today what he feels like." Indeed, Wilson has brushed off the MCL sprain in his left knee and turned in an untarnished practice, just as he did after suffering a sprained right ankle in Week 1. Outside of drills, rehabilitation will consume the remainder of his preparation for Sunday's contest versus the Jets in New York. Although Wilson is trending toward active status, Carroll expects his starting QB to wear a knee brace if he suits up, which could hamper his noted ability to improvise.

  • Patriots' Jacoby Brissett: Limited at practice Wednesday

Brissett (right thumb) was officially listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Both Brissett, who is dealing with a sprained thumb on his right (throwing) hand, and Jimmy Garoppolo (sprained right AC joint), were able to throw some Wednesday, though neither player would reveal the team's starting QB plans for Sunday's game against the Bills. "That's Coach [Bill Belichick]'s decision," Brissett declared Wednesday. "I can't make that decision."

  • Patriots' Jimmy Garoppolo: Limited at practice Wednesday

Garoppolo (sprained right AC joint) was officially listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

Garoppolo was able to do some throwing at practice Wednesday, but at this stage, it remains unclear whether he or Jacoby Brissett, who is dealing with a thumb injury, will draw the start at QB for the Patriots on Sunday against the Bills. "We'll see on Sunday. I don't know right now," Garoppolo noted Wednesday.
