Sam Hartman: Sticking around in Washington
The Commanders signed Hartman to the practice squad Wednesday, Zach Selby of the team's official site reports.
Hartman was unable to beat out veteran Josh Johnson for the QB3 spot on the Commanders' 53-man roster, but the former will stick around as the team's quarterback on the practice squad. Hartman completed 25 of 46 passes for 207 yards and four interceptions while turning six carries into 40 yards across the Commanders' three preseason games.

Jordan Love QB | GB
Packers' Jordan Love: Back to full practice
Coach Matt LaFleur said Love (thumb) will be a full practice participant Wednesday, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.
Love suited up preseason Week 1 against the Jets, but that marked his only appearance of the exhibition slate, as he underwent a procedure for a ligament injury in his left thumb following that contest. He was able to return to practice as of last Monday, but his reps were managed in the meantime due to his recovery effort. On Wednesday, though, Love finally will take snaps under center for the first time since the surgery, as LaFleur told Ryan Wood of USA Today. Love thus appears on pace to be available Sunday, Sept. 7 versus the Lions.

Shane Buechele QB | KC
Shane Buechele: Lands on Bills' practice squad
Buffalo signed Buechele to its practice squad Wednesday, Alec White of the team's official site reports.
Buechele wasn't able to make the Bills' initial 53-man roster, but he'll remain with the club as organizational QB depth. If Josh Allen or Mitchell Trubisky were to miss time at any point, Buechele could be elevated to the active roster.

Brett Rypien QB | MIN
Brett Rypien: Heads to Cincy's practice squad
Rypien signed with Cincinnati's practice squad Wednesday.
Rypien spent training camp with the Vikings, but he'll head to greener pastures in an organization with a less crowded quarterback depth chart. He'll be the next man up should anything happen to Joe Burrow or backup Jake Browning.
-
Tyler Huntley QB | BAL
Tyler Huntley: Lands on Baltimore's practice squad
The Ravens are signing Huntley to the practice squad Wednesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.
Huntley was cut by Cleveland on Sunday and now returns to a familiar situation as an emergency quarterback for the Ravens, for whom he handled a depth role from 2020-2023. Cooper Rush has operated as the top backup to Lamar Jackson throughout the offseason, but Huntley competing for that role as the season progresses wouldn't be inconceivable.

Shane Buechele QB | KC
Shane Buechele: Released by Buffalo
Buechele was released by the Bills on Tuesday.
Buffalo parted ways with quarterbacks Mike White and Buechele, as Mitchell Trubisky will retain the backup role behind Josh Allen. The 27-year-old Buechele has yet to throw a regular-season NFL pass.

Tommy DeVito QB | NE
Patriots' Tommy DeVito: Claimed by Pats
The Patriots were awarded a waiver claim for DeVito on Wednesday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.
The Giants' offseason moves dropped DeVito to fourth on the depth chart, ultimately leading the team to waive him, but he'll now be the No. 3 QB in New England behind Drake Maye and Joshua Dobbs. It isn't out of the question for DeVito to challenge Dobbs for the No. 2 spot as the year progresses.
