  • Lions' David Montgomery: Expected to miss time

Coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Montgomery (ribs) is expected to miss some time, Colton Pouncy of The Athletic reports.

Montgomery is dealing with a rib cartilage issue, and Campbell said it's not an easy thing to endure as a running back. Montgomery played just 18 snaps in Sunday's win over the Bucs before leaving with the injury. On the season, he's rushed 94 times for 385 yards and six touchdowns, while adding six catches for 66 yards on 10 targets. In Montgomery's likely Week 7 absence, the Lions hope to get Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring) back and also will lean more on Craig Reynolds.

Lions' Jahmyr Gibbs: Trending in right direction

Coach Dan Campbell said Monday that Gibbs (hamstring) is trending toward playing Sunday against the Ravens, Tim Twentyman of the Lions' official site reports.

Gibbs has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury that he sustained in practice ahead of Week 5. With David Montgomery (ribs) now appearing as if he'll sit out at least one game, the Lions might need to lean even more on Gibbs, though Craig Reynolds and Devine Ozigbo also remain in the backfield mix for Detroit.

  • Saints' Jamaal Williams: Estimated as limited Monday

Williams (hamstring) was estimated as a limited participant on Monday's practice report, Mike Triplett of NewOrleans.Football reports.

The Saints haven't yet opened Williams' 21-day window to return from injured reserve, but the transaction will most likely become official when New Orleans holds its next traditional practice rather than a walk-through. Prior to going down with a hamstring strain and missing the Saints' last four games, Williams turned 27 carries into 74 scoreless yards (2.7 yards per carry) and caught two passes for seven yards. Once he returns, Williams will slide in as the top complement to lead back Alvin Kamara.

  • Commanders' Chris Rodriguez: Takes four carries

Rodriguez took four carries for 23 yards in Sunday's 24-16 win over the Falcons.

After missing the previous two games with an illness, Rodriguez returned and made his largest contribution of the year. Brian Robinson doesn't look to be in imminent danger of losing the starting job, but Rodriguez is at least worth tracking in deeper leagues given that neither Robinson nor Antonio Gibson has done much on the ground this year. The Commanders face the Giants in Week 7.

  • Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Scores first TD

Gibson took three carries for 15 yards and caught his lone target for a one-yard touchdown in Sunday's 24-16 win over Atlanta.

The touchdown was his first this season, with Gibson playing more than one-third of Washington's snaps most weeks but rarely seeing more than a handful of touches. He and the Commanders face the Giants in Week 7.

  • Ronnie Rivers RB | LAR

Rams' Ronnie Rivers: Expected to miss 4-5 weeks

Rivers is expected to be sidelined 4-to-5 weeks with a sprained PCL in his knee, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

A trip to injured reserve could be in Rivers' near future. The Rams' No. 2 running back, Rivers has rushed 13 times for 57 scoreless yards this season and has caught all four of his targets for 18 yards. With Rivers and Kyren Williams (ankle) banged up, rookie Zach Evans and veteran Royce Freeman could handle backfield duties Week 7 against the Steelers.

  • Dolphins' Chris Brooks: Week-to-week with ankle sprain

Coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that Brooks is week-to-week with an ankle injury he sustained in the Week 6 win over the Panthers, Cameron Wolfe of NFL Network reports.

Active as the Dolphins' RB3 against Carolina with De'Von Achane (knee) and Jeff Wilson (IR-ribs) out, Brooks played 11 snaps and rushed six times for 28 yards behind Raheem Mostert and Salvon Ahmed. With Brooks likely to be sidelined, it's possible Wilson is cleared to make his season debut Sunday night against the Eagles.

  • Seahawks' Zach Charbonnet: Limited to four touches

Charbonnet rushed twice for five yards and caught both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 17-13 loss to the Bengals.

Kenneth Walker was the clear workhorse once again, as he logged a 76 percent snap share and 22 touches for 89 yards and a touchdown. Meanwhile, Charbonnet handled just 24 percent of the offensive snaps. Charbonnet has been effective when given opportunities, as he has 109 yards on 23 carries (4.7 YPC) and 36 yards on six catches (nine targets). He's a necessary stash for fantasy purposes, but managers shouldn't feel confident starting him as long as Walker is healthy.

  • Zach Evans RB | NYJ

Rams' Zach Evans: Could be in line for more work

With Kyren Williams (ankle) and Ronnie Rivers (knee) battling injuries, Evans could be in line for an increased role Sunday against the Steelers.

Williams is expected to miss Week 7, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN, while Rivers is reportedly battling a sprained PCL. Evans was a sixth-round pick by the Rams in the 2023 Draft but has played just six offensive snaps, all of which came Week 6 against Arizona when Evans rushed four times for 10 yards in relief. Royce Freeman is on the Rams' practice squad and would likely be elevated should Williams and Rivers sit. Both backs figure to be popular waiver-wire pickups in fantasy this week.

  • Kyren Williams RB | LAR

Rams' Kyren Williams: Expected to miss Week 7

Williams (ankle) is expected to miss Sunday's game against the Steelers due to a sprained ankle, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

On Monday, Williams underwent an MRI, which revealed a diagnosis of a sprained ankle. While the injury is expected to sideline him Week 7, the belief is that Williams isn't dealing with a long-term issue. Considering that backup Ronnie Rivers (knee) also is at risk of missing time, though, Los Angeles' backfield depth could be significantly depleted versus Pittsburgh. Rookie sixth-round pick Zach Evans is the only other healthy back currently on the active roster, while veteran journeyman Royce Freeman could be called up from the practice squad.
