Top Chris Evans News

  • Chris Evans: Will attend Broncos rookie camp

Evans will participate in Denver's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Pelissero mentions that Evans has recovered after missing the entire 2024 season due to a ruptured patella tendon. Prior to the injury, Evans appeared in 34 regular-season games for the Bengals after being selected in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. His contributions in Cincinnati came mostly on kickoff returns and as a pass catcher out the backfield.

  • Bengals' Chris Evans: Moves to IR

Evans (leg) was placed on injured reserve Monday.

The move was a formality for Evans after it was already reported he would miss the 2024 campaign due to suffering a torn patellar tendon during a joint practice with the Bears on Thursday. The Michigan product was competing for a spot on Cincinnati's running back depth chart behind Zack Moss and Chase Brown before suffering the injury.

  • Bengals' Chris Evans: Out for season

Evans is out for the season after suffering a torn patellar tendon during the Bengals' joint practice with the Bears on Thursday, Jordan Schultz of BleacherReport.com reports.

The running back was carted off the practice field and had his leg placed in an air cast. Evans was competing for a spot on Cincinnati's running back depth chart behind Zack Moss and Chase Brown. The Michigan product carried the ball twice for 12 yards in 2023.

  • Bengals' Chris Evans: Inactive Sunday

Evans (healthy scratch) is inactive Sunday against the Steelers.

With Chase Brown back from IR, Evans is the odd man out in the Bengals' Week 12 backfield. Also in the mix against Pittsburgh Sunday are starter Joe Mixon, as well as Trayveon Williams.

  • Bengals' Chris Evans: Gets two offensive snaps in Week 11

Evans played two of the Bengals' 64 snaps on offense and went without a carry or target in Sunday's 30-27 loss to the Texans.

As usual, lead back Joe Mixon dominated the snaps and touches for the Bengals, leaving little opportunity left over for Evans and Trayveon Williams, who combined for one target and no carries. Williams out-snapped Evans by a 14-2 margin Sunday, so he would appear to be next in line for the starting role if Mixon were to miss time at any point.
