Dallas waived Davis on Tuesday, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

The Cowboys signed Davis to their active roster Monday ahead of their game versus the Cardinals, but now he's headed to waivers just one day later. He could be a candidate to join back up with Dallas' practice squad if he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period.

New England released Ward from its practice squad Tuesday.

In a corresponding transaction, the Patriots signed wide receiver Brenden Rice to their practice squad. Ward's stint with the team lasted just one week, and now he'll have to start seeking another opportunity elsewhere.

The Panthers signed Dallas to the practice squad Tuesday, Kassidy Hill of the team's official site reports.

Dallas was released from the Panthers' active roster Saturday, but the 2020 fourth-rounder has opted to stay in Carolina as a member of the team's practice squad. He would be a top candidate to be elevated to the Panthers' 53-man roster if Rico Dowdle, Chuba Hubbard or Trevor Etienne were to miss time due to injury, illness or suspension. Dallas played for the Panthers in Weeks 5 and 6 and accumulated 141 kick return yards.

Carter was active but didn't play a snap in Monday's 27-17 win over the Cowboys.

Carter was elevated from the practice squad in advance of Monday's contest to bolster the team's backfield depth, but the Cardinals ended up leaning on Bam Knight (38 snaps, 11 touches) and Emari Demercado (27 snaps, 15 touches) exclusively as their running backs during the game. Carter will revert to the Cardinals' practice squad Tuesday, and because he's now been elevated the maximum three times this season, he would need to be signed back to the 53-man roster in order to be eligible to play again. Trey Benson (knee) could be nearing a return from injured reserve in the coming weeks, so Arizona may not have much motivation to add Carter back to the roster. Over four appearances on the season, Carter has carried 35 times for just 97 yards (2.8 average) and one touchdown to go with nine catches for 77 yards on 12 targets.

Laube returned one kickoff for 30 yards in Sunday's 30-29 overtime loss to the Jaguars.

Laube did not play an offensive snap in Week 9, and his lone chance to return a kickoff didn't come until the fourth quarter. Expect the lack of fantasy utility to continue for Laube while fellow running backs Ashton Jeanty and Raheem Mostert remain healthy ahead of a Thursday Night Football tilt against a tough Broncos defense.

Mostert caught his lone target for 14 yards and returned five kickoffs for 202 yards in Sunday's 30-29 overtime loss to the Jaguars.

Mostert has racked up 302 total kickoff return yards throughout the Raiders' past two games, but rookie Ashton Jeanty continues to dominate touches out of the backfield, while also proving capable as a pass catcher. Mostert's offensive involvement figures to remain limited in Denver on Thursday.

Knight rushed nine times for 27 yards and caught both of his targets for 20 yards in Monday's 27-17 win over Dallas.

Knight watched teammate Emari Demercado (14-79-0) return from an ankle injury and reclaim the starter's workload out of Arizona's backfield. Head coach Jonathon Gannon stated that he would lean on the hotter hand Monday, and Demercado was that guy on Monday Night Football. Knight still handled a decent amount of touches, so he could retain value in deeper formats in a potential timeshare against the Seahawks on Sunday.

Demercado (ankle) took 14 carries for 79 yards and lost one yard on his only reception in Monday's 27-17 win over Dallas.

Demercado used the Cardinals' bye week to fully recover from an ankle injury that wound up costing him just one contest. The 26-year-old jumped right into a prominent role, leading the backfield in production even though Bam Knight drew the start. Knight still saw plenty of involvement with 47 yards gained on 11 combined touches, but Demercado came out of the contest looking like the superior fantasy option. Trey Benson (knee) is eligible to be activated from injured reserve against the Seahawks in Week 10, but it's currently unclear if he'll be physically ready to play right away. Benson's eventual return should push Demercado back into a change-of-pace role, but the latter likely will maintain fantasy value until that happens.

The Steelers reverted Sermon to their practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Sermon was elevated ahead of Sunday's victory over the Colts and logged one snap on offense without getting any touches. He also recorded 19 special-teams snaps, registering one tackle in that capacity. Sermon has been elevated three times this season, so he'd need to be signed to the active roster to play again for the Steelers this season.

Williams rushed 15 times for 83 yards and brought in his only target for no gain in the Cowboys' 27-17 loss to the Cardinals on Monday night. He also lost a fumble and recovered another.

Williams ceded just a single rushing opportunity to another running back (Malik Davis) and once again churned out an efficient performance, averaging over 5.0 yards per carry for the fifth time this season. Williams recorded three runs of 10-plus yards along the way, but his fumble at the Cardinals' 37-yard line with just under five minutes remaining and Dallas trying to reduce a 10-point deficit proved costly. The miscue aside, Williams has enjoyed a resurgent first half of his debut Cowboys campaign, and he'll continue in his unquestioned lead-back role in a Week 11 road matchup against the Raiders on Monday night, Nov. 17 following a Week 10 bye.
