  • Panthers' Christian McCaffrey: Totals 80 scrimmage yards versus Eagles

McCaffrey carried seven times for 29 yards and gained 51 yards on six catches during Sunday's 21-17 win over the Eagles.

McCaffrey didn't get many opportunities on the ground, as his team was behind for most of the contest. He finished tied for second on the team in targets and caught every pass that was thrown his way, eclipsing 45 receiving yards for the fourth time in six games. Touchdowns have been hard to come by for McCaffrey -- he has just one to his name this season -- but his involvement as a receiver has kept him among the more useful running back options in PPR formats. Still, fantasy owners are likely looking for more as he heads into a tough matchup against the Ravens in Week 8.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Accounts for third touchdown of season

Chubb rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown on 18 carries during Sunday's 26-23 overtime loss to Tampa Bay.

Suddenly possessing low-end RB2 upside with Carlos Hyde being traded to Jacksonville earlier in the week, Chubb handled 18 of 19 halfback carries Sunday, while averaging an efficient 4.4 yards per rush (he'd not exceeded three attempts in any game prior to Week 7). Without another downhill thumper on the Browns roster, expect Chubb to garner the vast majority of between-the-tackles work while also seeing plenty of carries near the goal line. The next opponent on the slate is Pittsburgh, which sports a front seven that's surrendered 97.8 rushing yards per contest (entered Week 7 bye as a top-12 defense against the run).

  • Vikings' Latavius Murray: Stays hot with two-touchdown effort

Murray rushed 15 times for 69 yards and two touchdowns while catching both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 37-17 win over the Jets.

Murray scored from 11 yards out in the third quarter and added a 38-yard touchdown in the fourth. He's come alive over the past two weeks, tallying 224 yards and three touchdowns on the ground with Dalvin Cook sitting out due to a nagging hamstring injury. The 28-year-old running back would be in line for a feature role against the Saints on Sunday Night Football in Week 8 if Cook's unable to make his return.

  • Kenyan Drake RB | GB

Dolphins' Kenyan Drake: Breaks long touchdown run

Drake rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on six carries and added 15 yards on four catches during Sunday's 32-21 loss to Detroit.

Drake brought Miami to within a score in the third quarter, accelerating off the hip of his left guard, bouncing to the sideline, and dragging a Lions defender or two on his way to a 54-yard score, his first rushing touchdown since Week 2. Drake has split touches pretty evenly with Frank Gore over the past three games, 40 to 39 in favor of Drake, but it's fair to wonder whether Drake deserves to be in line for a greater share after averaging 7.0 yards per carry during that span. A Thursday night matchup against a stingy Houston run defense surrendering just 3.5 yards per carry presents as a formidable challenge.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Returns to Sunday's game

Breida (ankle) returned to Sunday's contest against the Rams, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

Breida opened the game by injuring his left ankle on a two-yard carry, and after missing the rest of the 49ers' first two possessions, he had the ball ripped out of his hands by Aaron Donald to kick off the third drive, marking the first lost fumble of his career. Assuming he remains in the game, Breida will have to split reps with Raheem Mostert and Alfred Morris.

  • Matt Breida RB | SF

49ers' Matt Breida: Hurts left ankle Sunday

Breida is questionable to return to Sunday's game versus the Rams due to a left ankle injury, Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

After the 49ers' first offensive play, a two-yard run by Breida, the running back went to the sideline with a slight limp and had his left ankle wrapped by the medical staff. He injured the same ankle Week 5 against the Cardinals, a contest that he was unable to reenter. It remains to be seen if he'll be able to gut it out on this occasion. If he's unable to, Raheem Mostert and Alfred Morris will compose San Francisco's backfield.

  • Marlon Mack RB | ARI

Colts' Marlon Mack: Breaks out against hapless Bills

Mack rushed for 126 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries while catching two of three targets for 33 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 37-5 win over Buffalo. He was also successful on a two-point conversion on the ground.

Mack converted a 4th-and-1 near midfield late in the first quarter, keeping alive a drive that ended with a touchdown by tight end Erik Swoope. The running back found himself doing the scoring on the Colts' next possession, finding paydirt on a 29-yard reception before adding a two-point conversion on the ground. Mack poured a little salt into Buffalo's wounds in the fourth quarter, scoring a 20-yard rushing touchdown to make it 37-5. Expect him to get the bulk of the rushing work against the Raiders in Week 8 following this breakout performance.

  • Derrick Henry RB | BAL

Titans' Derrick Henry: Finds end zone

Henry rushed for 33 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in Sunday's 20-19 loss to the Chargers. He also added two receptions for 32 yards.

Henry struggled to run efficiently yet again -- he averaged only 2.8 yards per carry -- but did manage to find the end zone for the first time this season. He also offered a slight boost in the passing game, as he caught multiple passes for just the second time in seven games. While volume between the two backs remains similar, Dion Lewis out-gained Henry by 90 yards on Sunday. Overall, the touchdown helped Henry's bottom line, yet he remains one of the biggest busts this season and is averaging just 3.3 yards per carry. Given his inefficiency, he could also be in danger of losing volume to Lewis.

  • Austin Ekeler RB | WAS

Chargers' Austin Ekeler: Contained by Titans defense

Ekeler rushed for 42 yards on 12 carries, and hauled in five of seven targets for 26 receiving yards during Sunday's 20-19 win against Tennessee.

With Melvin Gordon (hamstring) inactive, Ekeler collected 17 of 20 running back touches, but he was relatively inefficient on the ground in rushing for 3.5 yards per carry against a stingy Titans defense. The second-year man continues to command a respectable target share (3.4 targets per game), but he's been less productive on the ground of late after an electrifying start to the season. Ekeler has averaged 4.3 yards per rush over his past four outings, compared to 8.2 yards per carry through his first three appearances of the year. Should Gordon prove healthy enough to play in Week 9 (following a bye), Ekeler will likely slide back into his complementary role against a Seattle defense that ranks in the bottom 10 of the league against the run (120.7 yards allowed per game entering Week 7).

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Not starting, but could feature prominently

Duke Johnson is listed as the Browns' starting running back for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers, but Chubb could still handle the bulk of the carries for the team, Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com reports.

Johnson has been adept both on the ground (19 carries for 111 yards) and as a receiver (14 catches for 164 yards) this season and will take the departed Carlos Hyde's post atop the depth chart in Week 7, but that doesn't indicate that he'll be the first back on the field nor earn the most touches. The Browns invested a second-round pick into the 5-foot-11, 227-pound Chubb this spring, presumably with the expectation that he would fill a workhorse role in time. Chubb has made the most of his limited opportunities thus far with 16 carries for 173 yards and two scores, production that probably made the Browns comfortable with shipping Hyde away to Jacksonville. Both Chubb and Johnson have seen their fantasy value rise with the move, but factors such as game flow and strength of opponent may dictate which of the two is the stronger option on a week-to-week basis.
