  • Najee Harris RB | LAC

Chargers' Najee Harris: Ready to play

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh said Wednesday that he expects Harris (eye) will play this Friday against the Chiefs.

Harris said Monday that he planned to play, with his full practice participation Tuesday then confirming he was on track. Harbaugh echoed that Wednesday, although he declined to answer reporters' questions about the extent of Harris' Week 1 role. "Those are really hard to predict," Harbaugh said. "Play counts and things of that nature. Get in there, play football and have at it. That's kind of the mindset. Not kind of, that is the mindset."

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Set for workhorse role again

Saints coach Kellen Moore said Wednesday that Kamara will take most of the team's carries, with other running backs ready to step up when there's a chance, Erin Summers of NFL Network reports.

It's what fantasy managers want to hear four days before the season opener, even if there's nothing surprising or unexpected about Moore's quote. Kendre Miller won the No. 2 RB job this summer, but he didn't necessarily do enough to earn a big Week 1 role, more or less defaulting into his depth chart spot after rookie Devin Neal missed much of the summer with a hamstring injury. Miller and Neal could get more involved as the season progresses, but Kamara figures to take well over half of the snaps and touches this Sunday against San Francisco.

  • Rachaad White RB | WAS

Buccaneers' Rachaad White: Not on injury report

White (groin) wasn't listed on the Buccaneers' first Week 1 practice report Wednesday, Brianna Dix of the team's official site reports.

White emerged from preseason Week 1 action with a groin injury, after which coach Todd Bowles said at the time made the running back "day-to-day," per Scott Smith of the team's official site. It's unclear if Wednesday's uncapped session marks White's first since then, but he now has a clean bill of health ahead of Sunday's game in Atlanta, when he'll be working in a complementary role behind No. 1 RB Bucky Irving. Such a gig amounted to 10.1 touches per game for White after Tampa Bay's Week 11 bye last season, but only 20 touches total over the final four contests, including a wild-card loss to the Commanders.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Officially limited Wednesday

Achane (calf) was listed as limited on Wednesday's practice report, Travis Wingfield of the Dolphins' official site reports.

Achane said at practice Wednesday that he feels back to 100 percent health, per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, so the Dolphins may simply still be taking a cautious approach to the undersized playmaker's recovery. With Mike McDaniel having said Monday that he still expects Achane to suit up Sunday on the road against Indianapolis, it sounds like the 23-year-old will be on track to play Week 1 even if he's officially listed as "questionable" on Friday's injury report. Jaylen Wright (leg) didn't practice Wednesday and appears set to miss time, so Ollie Gordon looks positioned as the No. 2 backfield option behind Achane versus the Colts.

  • Damien Martinez: Re-ups with practice squad

The Seahawks re-signed Martinez to the practice squad Wednesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

The rookie seventh-round pick is back with Seattle's practice squad one day after having been cut from the unit. Martinez is competing to hold onto an emergency depth role at running back for the 2025 season.

  • Tyler Goodson RB | ATL

Colts' Tyler Goodson: Logs limited practice

Goodson (elbow) was listed as a limited practice participant Wednesday.

As Week 1 approaches, Goodson is the only player listed on the Colts' initial injury report ahead of Sunday's game against the Dolphins. While his status for the contest shouldn't impact fantasy lineups this weekend, given that top back Jonathan Taylor is healthy, the question of whether Indy would turn to Goodson or DJ Giddens in the event of an injury to Taylor remains unsettled for now.

  • Jaylen Wright RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jaylen Wright: Trending in wrong direction

Wright (knee) did not practice Wednesday, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Wright is expected to miss time after undergoing surgery to address a right leg injury in late August, with coach Mike McDaniel saying the second-year running back is likely to sit out multiple weeks. Official clarity on Wright's status for Week 1 will arrive with Friday's practice report, at the latest, but fantasy managers should expect him to be unavailable Sunday at Indianapolis.

  • De'Von Achane RB | MIA

Dolphins' De'Von Achane: Practicing, but appears limited

Achane (calf) was a limited participant during the open portion of Wednesday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reports.

Reporters had access only to a brief portion of the practice, making it difficult to gauge Achane's level of participation (if any) in team drills. Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said Monday that he expects Achane to play this Sunday at Indianapolis, even though the 23-year-old missed the final two weeks of August with a calf injury. Fellow Miami running back Jaylen Wright (leg) is considered far less likely to play, leaving Ollie Gordon as the next man up, with Jeff Wilson and/or JaMycal Hasty likely to be promoted from the practice squad.

  • Hunter Luepke RB | DAL

    Cowboys' Hunter Luepke: Inks extension

Luepke signed a two-year extension with the Cowboys on Wednesday, Jon Machota of The Athletic reports.

The 25-year-old fullback will now remain in Dallas after spending the first two seasons of his career with the team. Over 33 regular-season appearances, Luepke has tallied 18 rushes for 57 yards and one touchdown to go along with 15 receptions for 129 yards. He's expected to serve as the Cowboys' top fullback throughout the 2025 campaign.

  • Titans' Julius Chestnut: Looks to be Pollard's backup

Chestnut is listed as the No. 2 RB on the Titans' unofficial depth chart released Tuesday.

Chestnut looked to be in position to earn the backup role to Tony Pollard after Tyjae Spears suffered an ankle injury in the Titans' first preseason contest, though he did split reps with Kalel Mullings (ankle) in the final preseason game. With Spears set to miss at least the first four games of the season, Chestnut should mix into the offense early in the campaign.
