Top George Holani News

  • Seahawks' George Holani: Solid with double-digit touches

Holani rushed 12 times for 42 yards in the Seahawks' 17-7 preseason loss to the Cowboys on Saturday.

Rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price (lower body) did not suit up Saturday, paving the way for Holani's start. The third-year pro finished with team-high figures in rush attempts and rushing yardage, further cementing his status as a top complementary option behind Price and Zach Charbonnet (PUP-knee). Holani could play a key role early in the season given Charbonnet's projected lack of availability, so it remains to be seen how heavily he'll be utilized in a road preseason matchup against the Titans on Sunday, Aug. 23.

  • Seahawks' George Holani: Listed atop preseason depth chart

Holani has been a standout at training camp and is listed as a starter on the initial preseason depth chart, SI.com's Randy Gurzi reports.

With Zach Charbonnet (knee) unavailable, Holani and rookie Jadarian Price have taken most of the first-team reps at training camp. Holani is listed as the starter, but he could still end up seeing most of his playing time on passing downs while Price gets mot of the carries early in the year. Until there's a clearer picture, both Price and Holani should be rostered in the vast majority of fantasy leagues.

  • Seahawks' George Holani: Alternating with first team

Holani and rookie first-round pick Jadarian Price have split first-team reps during the early days of training camp, Gregg Bell of The News Tribune reports.

Holani was often the first RB up for first-team reps during OTAs, and at this stage he and Price appear to have cemented themselves atop the depth chart, with Zach Charbonnet (ACL) on the active/PUP list and Emanuel Wilson seemingly in a depth role. Seahawks coaches have reportedly stressed Price growing as a pass catcher, but unless the rookie is able to make rapid improvements throughout camp, Holani could be the favorite for third-down reps come Week 1. The early-season workload split beyond that point seems like it will come down to a true competition between Price and Holani, though once Charbonnet is cleared to return Seattle could end up deploying all three to some extent.

  • Seahawks' George Holani: Taking most of first-team reps

Holani has often been the first running back through the rotation at Seattle's OTAs, according to Gregg Bell of The News Tribune.

With Kenneth Walker in Kansas City and Zach Charbonnet (knee) recovering from late-February ACL surgery, Holani is the veteran holdover in Seattle's backfield. First-round pick Jadarian Price is a clear favorite to lead the team in carries come Week 1, but it sounds like Holani is getting more snaps with the starters during the offseason program. Meanwhile, free-agent signing Emanuel Wilson reportedly is getting a lot of his work with the third-string offense. Holani, a 2024 UDFA, is still a long shot for mainstream fantasy value, but he's at least earning a spot on deep-sleeper lists and generating some interest as an end-game pick for best ball.

  • Seahawks' George Holani: Door not shut on backfield role

Holani could still have a role in Seattle's running back rotation even after the Seahawks drafted Jadarian Price 32nd overall Thursday, Brady Henderson of ESPN.com reports.

Zach Charbonnet (knee) is likely to miss some regular-season action, leaving Price, Holani and Emanuel Wilson as the top healthy options in a Seahawks backfield that lost Kenneth Walker in free agency. Price had just 15 catches in three years at Notre Dame, so Holani has a clear path to carving out a role in passing situations, at least until Charbonnet returns. Holani had only two catches across 11 regular-season appearances in 2025 but added four receptions in two playoff contests.
