  • Falcons' Jase McClellan: Won't suit up Sunday

McClellan (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Saints.

McClellan has yet to make his NFL regular-season debut. Bijan Robinson, Tyler Allgeier and Avery Williams continue to lead the Falcons' backfield.

  • Jets' Israel Abanikanda: Healthy inactive again

Abanikanda (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Broncos.

Abanikanda has yet to suit up this season. Breece Hall, Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will continue to lead the Jets' backfield.

  • Alvin Kamara RB | NO

Saints' Alvin Kamara: Active in Week 4

Kamara (hip/ribs) is listed as active Sunday at Atlanta.

After sitting out Wednesday's practice due to hip and rib injuries, Kamara closed Week 4 prep with consecutive limited sessions, which left him questionable heading into the weekend. Adam Schefter of ESPN reported early Sunday morning ET that Kamara intended to suit up, and that has come to pass. In three contests on the campaign, Kamara has been a workhorse out of the Saints backfield, averaging 23.7 touches for 139 yards from scrimmage per game while scoring five total TDs.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

    Texans' Joe Mixon: Officially inactive

Mixon (ankle) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Jaguars.

After missing practice Wednesday and Thursday, Mixon returned to a limited session Friday before being deemed questionable heading into the weekend. With Mixon officially inactive for the second straight contest and Dameon Pierce (hamstring) also still out, Cam Akers -- who started in place of Mixon in Week 3 -- is in line to continue to see an expanded role in Houston's backfield versus Jacksonville, with Dare Ogunbowale, British Brooks and J.J. Taylor available to handle complementary backfield touches. Mixon will target a potential return to action Oct. 6 against the Bills.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Texans' Joe Mixon: Not slated to play Sunday

Mixon (ankle) is not in line to play Sunday against the Jaguars, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports.

Mixon was listed as questionable for the contest, with his Week 4 status slated to be officially confirmed once the Texans' inactives are posted ahead of Sunday's 1:00 ET kickoff. In his looming absence, Cam Akers is once again slated to lead Houston's backfield.

  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: May be eying early November return

There's a chance McCaffrey (Achilles) will run on hard ground this coming week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

McCaffrey, who is dealing with Achilles tendonitis, remains on IR and without a clear timetable for a return, but Rapoport suggests that the running back should be back, at least, by early November. In the meantime, Jordan Mason is on track to lead the 49ers' backfield while McCaffrey remains sidelined.

  • Chiefs' Clyde Edwards-Helaire: Expected back this coming week

Edwards-Helaire is on track to return from the non-football illness list this coming week, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

With Isiah Pacheco on IR, the return of Edwards-Helaire would bolster the Chiefs' backfield depth while Pacheco recovers from his fibula injury. For now, the team's top available RB options are Carson Steele, Samaje Perine and Kareem Hunt.

  • Dolphins' Raheem Mostert: Questionable for Monday

Mostert (chest), who is listed as questionable for Monday night's game against the Titans, "is trying" to be ready for the contest according to coach Mike McDaniel, Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reports.

Mostert, who has missed the Dolphins' last two games, logged limited practices this past week before being deemed questionable ahead of Week 4 action. At this stage, however, his status for Monday remains uncertain, with McDaniel having noted of Mostert, "We are not going to prematurely put ourselves out there if we are going to take steps back and not protect ourselves. He wants to [play] in the worst way." If Mostert is unavailable for Monday's 7:30 ET kickoff, De'Von Achane, Jeff Wilson and Jaylen Wright would handle backfield duties against Tennessee.

  • Nick Chubb RB | HOU

Browns' Nick Chubb: Window expected to open Wednesday

The Browns are expected to open the practice window on Chubb (knee, PUP list) this coming week, Adam Schefter of ESPN and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network report.

Per Rapoport, Chubb -- who is bouncing back from a major knee injury that he sustained in Week 2 of last season -- is on track to have his practice window opened Wednesday. If that indeed occurs, the Browns would then have three weeks to reinstate the running back to their active roster. While Rapoport notes that Chubb isn't expected to be available for the team's Week 5 contest against the Commanders, a return to practice on Chubb's part, in any capacity, would represent a significant milestone toward a potential return to action in the coming weeks. In the meantime, Jerome Ford will continue to serve as Cleveland's top back, with D'Onta Foreman working as his top backup.

  • Joe Mixon RB | HOU

Texans' Joe Mixon: Considered game-time decision

Mixon (ankle) is trending toward being a game-time decision Sunday against the Jaguars, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.

Rapoport continued to suggest that it '...seems to be an uphill climb to play..." for Mixon, though Mixon seems determined to try to play. Teammate Dameon Pierce (hamstring) has already been ruled out, and J.J. Taylor has been elevated from the practice squad.
