  • Jeff Wilson RB | MIA

Dolphins' Jeff Wilson: Limited role Sunday

Wilson ran for 21 yards on three carries and caught three passes for 13 yards on four targets in Sunday's 56-19 loss to the Ravens.

The Ravens consistently added scoreboard distance between themselves and Miami over the course of the game, and as the Dolphins fell behind there was increasingly less room for Wilson in the game plan. In a closer game the Dolphins might have had more carries to distribute, but even with Raheem Mostert (knee/ankle) out Wilson saw only three carries to De'Von Achane's 14. Wilson appears safely behind both Mostert and Achane at this point, though if either were to miss time Wilson could pop back up on the mainstream fantasy radar.

  • James Cook RB | BUF

Bills' James Cook: Held in check by New England

Cook carried the ball 16 times for 48 yards and caught one of three targets for minus-4 yards in Sunday's 27-21 win over the Patriots.

The second-year running back was held to his lowest scrimmage yardage total since Week 9, a game in which he got only 10 touches. Cook has become a major part of the Buffalo offense since then, collecting 798 combined yards and four touchdowns on 135 touches over the last seven contests, and he figures to be busy again in Week 18 against the Dolphins as the Bills attempt to claim their fourth straight AFC East title.

  • Commanders' Antonio Gibson: Tallies six touches in Week 17

Gibson recorded four carries for 19 yards and gathered in two of four targets for 17 yards during Sunday's 27-10 loss to the 49ers.

Gibson welcomed back Brian Robinson (hamstring) to the Commanders backfield for the first time since Week 13, but even with Chris Rodriguez (ankle) going on injured reserve Thursday, Gibson's workload didn't differentiate from what he's accustomed to this season. His touch count landed in the middle of his typical range of 4-to-14, and Gibson again was easily out-touched by Robinson, 13-6. As such, Gibson likely will have a similar role Week 18 against the Cowboys.

  • 49ers' Elijah Mitchell: Sees season-high usage Sunday

Mitchell racked up 17 carries for 80 yards and one touchdown during Sunday's 27-10 win at Washington.

Mitchell was afforded only one rush in the first half, but after Christian McCaffrey exited in the third quarter due to a calf injury, the former was the 49ers' lead runner the rest of the way. The performance marked just Mitchell's second of 2023 with double-digit carries, and he also recorded his first touchdown of the campaign on a two-yard plunge. Per Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle, coach Kyle Shanahan relayed after the game that McCaffrey may have a strained calf, so with San Francisco locking up the No. 1 seed in the NFC with Sunday's victory, Mitchell could be the team's top back Week 18 against the Rams.

  • James Conner RB | ARI

Cardinals' James Conner: Hero of upset victory

Conner took 26 carries for 128 yards and a touchdown while catching his only target for five yards and another touchdown in Sunday's 35-31 win over Philadelphia.

Conner was the late-game hero of Sunday's upset win over the Eagles after he punched in a two-yard score with less than a minute left on the clock. It was the bruising tailback's second trip to the end zone in the second half after he caught a short touchdown pass from Kyler Murray in the third quarter. The red-hot Conner will carry a scoring streak of four games into the final game of the 2023 regular season.

  • Kevin Harris RB | JAC

Patriots' Kevin Harris: Makes impact as receiver

Harris carried the ball twice for 15 yards and caught both his targets for 54 yards in Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Bills.

The 2022 sixth-round pick helped set up a Bailey Zappe rushing TD in the second quarter with a 48-yard catch and run that got the Patriots into the red zone. Harris has seen his first significant stretch of NFL action over the last three games while Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle) has been sidelined, and Sunday's catches were the first of his career. Over those three games, Harris has picked up 115 scrimmage yards and a rushing TD on 15 touches while backing up Ezekiel Elliott, a role he should fill again in Week 18 against the Jets.

  • Saquon Barkley RB | PHI

Giants' Saquon Barkley: Quiet in Week 17 loss

Barkley rushed 12 times for 39 yards and caught three of six targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 26-25 loss to the Rams.

Barkley was held in check on the ground, posting his second-lowest rushing yardage total of the season. He could have had a bigger game as a pass catcher; Tyrod Taylor threw behind a wide open Barkley on what would have been a go-ahead two-point conversion in the fourth quarter, and Barkley had a drop with plenty of green grass in front of him on New York's final drive, which ended in a missed field goal. Barkley needs 84 rushing yards in Week 18 against the Eagles to reach 1,000 for the fourth time in six NFL seasons.

  • Patriots' Ezekiel Elliott: Finds end zone in Buffalo

Elliott carried the ball 14 times for 39 yards and a touchdown and caught one of two targets for six yards in Sunday's 27-21 loss to the Bills.

For the third straight game, the veteran running back was held below 40 rushing yards and 3.0 yards per carry while starting in place of Rhamondre Stevenson (ankle), but Elliott did score his first rushing TD since Week 7, which also came against Buffalo. The trade-off was a lack of production through the air. Elliott had posted a 21-126-2 line on 25 targets as a receiver in those three games, but Sunday it was second-year back Kevin Harris who made a bigger impact as a pass-catcher. Stevenson won't return this season, so Elliott should again get solid touch volume in Week 18 against the Jets, a team he posted a season-high 80 rushing yards against in their first meeting back in September.

  • 49ers' Christian McCaffrey: May have sustained calf strain

Coach Kyle Shanahan relayed after Sunday's 27-10 win over the Commanders that McCaffrey may be dealing with a calf strain, Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

On the plus side, Shanahan noted that McCaffrey's calf issue doesn't appear serious. Prior to exiting Sunday's contest, McCaffrey had carried 14 times for 64 yards and caught four of his five targets for 27 yards. McCaffrey's status will need to be monitored in the coming days, but the fact that the 49ers have clinched the No. 1 playoff seed in the NFC figures to factor into their plans for the star running back in Week 18.

  • Kyren Williams RB | LAR

Rams' Kyren Williams: Three TDs in Week 17 win

Williams rushed 20 times for 87 yards and three touchdowns while catching both of his targets for 14 yards in Sunday's 26-25 win over the Giants.

Williams opened the scoring with a four-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, then scored again from two yards out in the third before adding a 28-yard touchdown in the fourth. He's up to 12 rushing touchdowns in 12 games, and Williams has exceeded 100 scrimmage yards in each of his last seven appearances. The Rams can clinch a playoff spot if things break right for them in the remaining Week 17 games, but if Los Angeles still has something to play for Week 18, Williams would be a near-automatic start against a 49ers team that has already clinched the No. 1 seed in the NFC.
